The National Communications Director of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), has described the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a man who has no regard for the truth and is determined to lie his way into power as he had done in previous elections.
Speaking about Dr. Bawumia’s achievement as highlighted in his public lecture on his vision when elected as President, Sammy Gyamfi said all the initiatives he (Bawumia) described as his achievements were factually incorrect.
He argued that the Vice President cannot take credit for digitalisation in the passports office because it was under erstwhile Hanna Tetteh’s administration as foreign affairs minister that electronic application of passports was initiated. He also doubted the Vice President’s claim of creating more than 2.5 million jobs by questioning where those jobs were.
“Ghanaians are wide awake. The days when Bawumia could get away with his lectures as we saw in opposition which were full of lies, are gone. He got away with it in 2016 and in 2020, but they will not be third time lucky in 2024.
“The whole propaganda that he was the economic Messiah, and he had the magic wand has been exposed. The people have no confidence and trust in Bawumia, his people are faced with the challenge of marketing a candidate who is a chronic liar”.

Mr Sammy Gyamfi found Dr Bawumia’s claim of ‘having the integrity to fight corruption’ as preposterous and an attempt to hoodwink Ghanaians with lies as the 2024 general election approaches.
According to him, the Vice President himself is heavily involved in corruption as evident in the infamous rice scandal that hit his office in December of last year as well as the ‘Galamsey Economy’ exposé, where millions of cedis were alleged to be demanded as fees before an appointment with the Vice President.
As such, Mr Gyamfi admonished Ghanaians to vote for the National Democratic Congress’ presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, to hold President Nana Addo and all his appointees accountable for their ‘crimes’.
Mahama Lacks Credibility To Fight Corruption
Meanwhile, Akbar Yussif Rohullah Khomeini, special aide to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has marked out former President, John Dramani Mahama, as one who is ‘incurably corrupt’.
According to him, the former President has been implicated in several local and international scandals and cautioned the National Communications Director of the NDC to be mindful of his remarks about Dr. Bawumia especially when it comes to debates about who has integrity to fight corruption.
Mr. Akbar alleged an implication of former President Mahama in the infamous Airbus scandal; and his designation as Government Official One (1) by the Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Amidu after a series of investigations.
“In February 2009, according to the Federal Court report on the matter of the infamous Airbus scandal, the court established conclusively that Mr. Mahama as early as February 2009 was in a constant email conversation with officials of Airbus.
“We also have listened, after a series of investigations by the Special Prosecutor that it was established clearly that Mr. Mahama was the man designated Government Official 1. It was this man who used the name of his brother as the intermediary to receive bribes worth 8 million dollars with a phoney company registered in Spain; that phoney company took 3 million dollars out of the money and remitted over 5 million dollars to Mr Mahana.”

Mr Akbar emphasised that Ex-President Mahama would not have been allowed to contest in any other effective democratic culture. Unlike his opponent who has been implicated in various corruption scandals, Dr. Bawumia was bold to assert in his lecture that he is not corrupt as a human being and as a Vice President.
