Ghanaian Kumawood actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has shared some exciting details of his upcoming movie project titled ‘A Country Called Ghana’.

Lil Win is a well-known public figure in the Ghanaian entertainment scene, who has starred in several Kumawood movies and TV shows. He is also a musician and a producer.

Speaking about his upcoming movie project, Lil Win revealed that it would be a two-season series.

“It would be a series but it would be just 2 seasons. Usually, series are long; it would be tough for me to do a long series, so it’s just 2 seasons,” he said.

The Kumawood actor intends to make the series tailored for Netflix but needs to prove he can get the numbers, so he got the Nigerian actors on board to help him achieve that.

He asserted that the project is entirely funded by him and expressed his intention to submit it to Netflix upon completion. His goal is to secure funding from Netflix for future endeavors, paving the way for more ambitious projects down the line.

He emphasized that there is nothing amiss in collaborating with individuals from other countries, citing the common practice in Hollywood movies.

“Even Hollywood movies feature actors from China and India. For any project you want to work on, it is best that you get people from other countries to work with,” Lil Win said.

“Even with this, they are just 3 to 4 actors. If they were about ten, then, you could say there’s a problem. For every art project, it’s best to feature others to boost numbers,” he further stated.

Also, he revealed that the series will be in English and the local dialect.

“The storyline is about a group of foreigners who find themselves in a Ghanaian village. But no one speaks English there except my character,” he mentioned.

He revealed some of the cast members of the series, which include Nigerian stars such as Ramsey Nouah, Awilo Sharp Sharp, and Charles Awurua, as well as Ghanaian stars such as Omar Krupp, Paa George, Afriyie Forson, and himself.

Lil Win noted that he would have wanted to bring in some Ghanaian English-speaking actors, but he did not have the funding for that.

Kumawood Actor Officially Opens Up About Lawsuit Filed Against Him

Lil Win officially opened up about the lawsuit filed against him by fellow filmmaker Martha Ankomah.

He explained that he did not mean to insult or disrespect the actress, but was only playing a character in a video he made.

“When I made that video, I was only acting; it was a character I was playing. I wasn’t that serious. You could see I was in makeup. If I was serious about what I said, I would’ve made the video at home. It was just a form of acting. I was just acting,” he said.

He further added that he loves everyone in Ghana and has no ill feelings towards anyone, especially Martha Ankomah, whom he respects as a colleague.

The actor mentioned that he would not want to talk about the court matter, as he left the issue in the custody of his Lawyer to handle.

Lil Win blamed social media for blowing the issue out of proportion and creating unnecessary tension between him and the actress.

He appealed to the public to stop spreading false rumors and negative comments about him and the actress and urged all to support the Ghanaian movie industry.

Lil Win is facing a defamation lawsuit from Martha Ankomah, who is demanding GHC5 million in damages over a viral video.
