NDC

In the heart of Ghana’s political landscape, a new chapter is being written in the Akuapem South Constituency. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in this region has remained unmoved following the election of Mr. Eric Apeadu as the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This development, while significant in its own right, has not caused any ripples within the ranks of the NDC, who have welcomed this new candidate with an air of calm confidence.

Mr. Eric Apeadu, a stalwart of the NPP, emerged victorious in a keenly contested primary. His election has been hailed by many within his party as a positive step towards consolidating their hold on the Akuapem South Constituency. However, his political adversaries in the NDC have remained unperturbed.

The NDC’s reaction to Mr. Apeadu’s election reflects their unwavering belief in their strategies and capabilities. They have maintained that their focus remains undeterred – to serve the people of Akuapem South Constituency and work towards achieving their political objectives.

“Mr. Eric Apeadu comes in virtually as an imposed apprentice of the non-performing Hon. O.B. Amoah whose unlikely election can only mean an unfortunate additional term for OB Amoah and a huge source of worry for not just the Constituency but even members of the NPP.”

The NDC’s stance is not born out of complacency or underestimation of their opponent. Rather, it is rooted in their deep-seated conviction that they have what it takes to win over the hearts and minds of their constituents. They believe that their track record and commitment to social justice and economic empowerment will speak louder than any political rhetoric.

The leadership of the NDC in Akuapem South reiterated its commitment to running a clean campaign focused on issues that matter to the constituents. They have pledged to engage Mr. Apeadu and his party in policy debates and discussions around development plans for the constituency.

While acknowledging Mr. Apeadu’s election as a democratic process within the NPP, the NDC also expressed its readiness to face any candidate put forward by the opposition. They stated that their confidence is not shaken by personalities but is anchored on their party’s vision, mission, and the unwavering support of their constituents.

“We use this medium to remind electorates in the Akuapem South Constituency of the Superior quality of the Candidacy of Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu and the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, President John Dramani Mahama. In Lawrencia comes the hope of the people of Akuapem South. We urge all Akuapem South Constituents to rally behind Honourable Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu as the NDC campaigns to annex the seat to help build the Akuapem South we all want together.”

The political landscape in Akuapem South Constituency is set for interesting times ahead. As Mr. Eric Apeadu prepares to lead the NPP into the next parliamentary elections, the NDC stands ready to engage in a battle of ideas and policies. The constituents are undoubtedly the ultimate deciders of this political contest and will watch keenly as events unfold.

Mr. Eric Apeadu secured 267 votes out of the total valid votes cast, representing 49.3% of the votes, in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary for the Akuapem South Constituency. This victory was achieved despite the primary process being delayed due to the withdrawal of the incumbent Member of Parliament, O.B Amoah, from the contest. The primary saw Eric Apeadu competing against Frank Aidoo, Eric Samuel Annor Mensah, and Kwame Ofori Gyae, with Apeadu emerging victorious.

While the election of Mr. Eric Apeadu as the Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP is a significant development within Ghana’s political sphere, it has not caused any significant shift within the NDC in Akuapem South Constituency. The party remains focused on its mission and is ready to face any challenge that comes its way in the upcoming elections.
