Rapper Kwesi Arthur has dismissed claims that he planned to officially leave the music industry after his exit from his former management company GroundUp Chale.

The artist admitted that he had challenges going independent, especially after leaving a system he had been in for years.

“When you leave the system everything is brand new for you. Fortunately for me, I still kept pushing…If I would have stopped making music, it would have been then, in 2022. I just put out my first project off my own music company I started in honour of my grandmother. So, for people to think that is weird, how ill I quit?”

Kwesi Arthur mentioned that he is in a position to inspire others, musicians included, give hope and aid people and does not take that for granted.

“Because of me, I don’t need to blow my own trumpet. But I have been an inspiration to so many people. There are a lot of young artists that saw me and said that if this guy can do it, then I can also do it,” Kwesi Arthur revealed.

Kwesi Arthur revealed that he feels honored that he is able to inspire Black Sherif and Yaw Tog.

This comes after rumours of disputes between Kwesi Arthur and his former record label went rife on social media. This, as it was reported, contributed to his short absence from the music scene and left fans curious about his whereabouts.

The ‘Grind Day’ crooner allegedly encountered challenges with his record label when attempting to renegotiate his contract, with certain clauses proving difficult to amend.

Reflecting on his experience, he stressed the importance of having legal counsel to scrutinize contracts, cautioning against signing agreements hastily out of eagerness.

Nonetheless, his words serve as a reminder to emerging artists of the importance of legal protection in navigating the music industry.

Kwesi Arthur, who had been residing in the US for several months, announced his return, affirming his commitment to his music career.

Kwesi Arthur finally opened up about the song he did with Black Sherif, adding that the song may never be released.

He disclosed that he and Black Sherif felt that the song was old and didn’t need to be released.

“I don’t think the record is going to come out. Even the way it was put out, it was kind of leaked. Even at this point, it’s also old. We’ve both had the conversation about it and we both felt like it’s old,” he said.

He recalled the circumstances surrounding the recording of the video, how he was moved by Black Sherif’s craft and how he felt when social media trolls claimed he had beef with him.

“It was before “Second Sermon” and all that. He was talented and I was inspired by his craft as well, and it was humbling to know that I inspired someone else as well. When we came together, we were in different situations. I remember calling him to pull up to the studio and I recorded him myself, on my logic, so it was weird to hear rumours later that I didn’t like him and all that. That was stupid.”

Kwesi Arthur however, hinted at a glimmer of hope, saying “But there’s something new in the works between the two of us.”

In 2022, a supposed clip of a song by Ghanaian music sensations Black Sherif, Kwesi Arthur, and Big Hommieflee made the trend on social media.

The one-minute clip of the song titled “Alhamdulillah” was paraded as an upcoming song from the duo. News that left many fans excited and expectant.

However, two years later, no such song has been released or discussed by either of the two artistes.
