The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party, Richard Ahiagbah has strongly expressed hope in the ability of the country’s economy to return to normalcy, showcasing the resilience and strategic acumen of the ruling party’s administration led by President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Ahiagbah, in a compelling argument, highlighted the significant strides the government has made in navigating the country through a turbulent economic crisis.

Highlighting the government’s significant strides, the ruling party’s Director of Communications recounted the current government’s victory in successfully negotiating the cancellation or deferral of $15 billion (GH¢225 billion) in principal and interest on the country’s external debts.

This remarkable achievement according to him is compounded by an additional $4.7 billion saved through debt cancellation on the country’s Eurobonds.

The governing New Patriotic Party Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, strongly argued that these figures are not just numbers but represent a lifeline for an economy battered by the dual crises of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

“This success demonstrates the resilience and determination of Ghanaians and the government in overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine War”.

Furthermore, Richard Ahiagbah emphasized that the recent economic triumph aligns with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s optimistic assertion that the New Patriotic Party knows how to revive the country’s economy.

Mr Ahiagbah, while expressing optimism in the prospect of the country’s economy, urged Ghanaians to rejoice in the recovery of the country’s economy following the devastating impact of the COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.

“Do you recall President Akufo-Addo’s statement that we know how to bring back the economy? The economy is coming back, and Ghanaians must be happy about the recovery”

Bawumia’s Campaign Team Confident in Victory

Meanwhile, in an earlier remarks, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team expressed strong confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to lead Ghana into a new era of progress and development.

Speaking passionately about the campaign’s momentum, Mr Aboagye highlighted the public’s desire for a fresh perspective and the opportunity to witness Dr Bawumia’s potential as President.

Mr Aboagye further emphasized that Dr Bawumia’s campaign is driven by a widespread conviction among Ghanaians that Dr Bawumia, who has served as Vice President, deserves the chance to showcase his leadership capabilities at the highest level.

Reflecting on former President John Dramani Mahama’s tenure as President of the country, Mr Aboagye drew a compelling comparison, stating that because Ghanaians listened to the National Democratic Congress flagbearer message and voted him into power during the 2012 general election, it is also time for Ghanaians to vote for the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as President.

“”Mahama came to us and said, ‘I’m a spare driver, allow me to be a driver.’ We listened, and he became President. Now, the people feel it’s time to allow another Ghanaian to show us what he can do in his capacity as President. We have a choice between Dr. Bawumia and a former President [John Mahama]. Dr. Bawumia has never been President before, but he has served as Vice President. The difference is that Mahama has been both Vice President and President”.

The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team in addition dismissed the National Democratic Congress’s, accusations faulting the Vice President as being responsible for the country’s economic woes, describing the opposition’s narrative as weak and ineffective.

He further questioned Mahama’s campaign promises, suggesting that the former President had failed to deliver during his previous tenure.
