The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Musa Danquah has strongly defended the credibility of his firm’s polls against mounting criticism.

Mr. Danquah, in sharp rebuttals against claims of improbable figures in its January 2024 polls, firmly asserted that the outcome of each of the firms’ polls conducted since its operation is reflective of what happened on the field, devoid of any human manipulation.

“I have seen some posts being widely shared by people who say our polls are lotto forecast and busily going back to read January 2024 polls that showed that in Oforikrom and Kwadaso JM was doing 99% and 61% and they are laughing.

Musa Danquah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics

Mr Danquah addressed the allegations head-on, presenting a detailed, data-driven explanation of the January 2024 poll results.

‘No Ken, No Vote Stance’

According to him, the timing of the poll was crucial, as it was conducted immediately after Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the ruling New Patriotic Party 2024 presidential primaries.

This victory, he noted led to a significant shift in voter sentiment within the Ashanti region, particularly among supporters of the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, who adopted a “No Ken, No Vote” stance.

The situation, he explained, temporarily boosted the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama’s numbers, leading to the surprising results.

To illustrate the abnormality of the 99% figure of the National Democratic Congress flagbearer in the Oforikrom Constituency, Mr Danquah pointed out that this was the first instance where the former President led the polls in the Ashanti region, reflecting an unusual but explainable phenomenon.

He further clarified that the respondents were asked multiple questions before disclosing their voting intentions.

“For example, in Oforikrom, we sampled 130 voters and ALL 130 said Ghana was headed in the wrong direction. Again to corroborate their choice at the time, we also looked at the approval rating of the president in Oforikrom at the time, and out of the 130 people interviewed, 1 person said, they somewhat approved of his job performance,  6 people said somewhat disproved and 123 people they strongly disapprove”.

Musa Danquah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics

Given the above context, the Executive Director of the Global InfoAnalytics, Musa Danquah argued that it was logical for respondents to lean towards the National Democratic Congress, former President John Dramani Mahama when asked about their voting preferences.

He underscored that the firm’s data is comprehensive and robust, offering to provide further explanations and data to anyone who disputes their findings.

Mr. Danquah also indicated that the recent rise in Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s poll numbers in the Ashanti Region can be attributed to the reversal of the “No Ken, No Vote” stance of the ruling party supporters, immediately after Honorable Kennedy Agyapong joined the Dr Bawumia campaign.

This shift, according to Mr Danquah underscored the dynamic and evolving nature of voter sentiment, which Global InfoAnalytics captures through its rigorous polling methodologies.

The Executive Director for Global InfoAnalytics, in conclusion, emphasized the integrity and credibility of the research and polling firm’s polling data, inviting critics to engage with the firm directly for more detailed explanations.

He highlighted the complexities of voter behavior but also reaffirmed the importance of context and timing in interpreting of poll results.
