Russian Ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov has said that the US administration “stubbornly ignores Russia’s interests.”
“Now they are increasingly talking about the possibility of shelling Russian territory with long-range weapons,” he stated.
“Only a few politicians mention the possibility of a Third World War to which local authorities are paving the way,” the ambassador said.
Antonov reiterated that “it is impossible to negotiate with terrorists.”
“No schemes or so-called ‘peace initiatives’ to cease fire in Eastern Europe without taking into account Russia’s national interests are possible,” he said.
Commenting on the US government’s remarks about the possibility of lifting restrictions on the use of US-supplied weapons for attacks deep inside Russia, Antonov said that Washington’s declared goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia is impossible.
“The United States is steadily driving itself deeper into the quagmire of the Ukrainian conflict,” he said, adding that the US government is “ready to sacrifice the well-being of US citizens by transferring multibillion-dollar volumes of weapons and ammunition to the Kyiv regime.”
“The only demand of Washington curators is to increase military clashes with Russian troops. We continue to be tested for the limit of our tolerance or patience to hostile steps. The overall purpose is the notorious strategic defeat of our country.”

According to Antonov, the US government has tasked Kyiv with stepping up its attacks aimed against ordinary Russians.
“Warnings from American military and political scientists about Zelenskyy’s inability to achieve his goals with the help of the notorious ATACMS or even longer-range systems are simply ignored.”
“It seems that official Washington perfectly understands the situation on the battlefield when every day Russian troops liberate more and more settlements in Donbass. However, politicians are extremely pleased with the death of Slavs on both sides of the line of contact. They openly proclaim a simple task – to preserve the old system of international relations where America used to dominate.”

He stated that Kyiv is being tasked to intensify attacks against ordinary Russians, adding, “No one is even trying to hide – even at the highest level in the White House – that intelligence data has been and continues to flow from the United States to Kyiv.”
He added, “Washington strategists use provocative slogans about alleged Moscow’s plans to take over almost half of the world to justify hostile actions against the Russian Federation.”
“This is outright nonsense. At the same time, provocative pseudo-facts about some supplies from Iran, North Korea or even China are constantly fueling the bonfire of Russophobia.
“It is impossible to negotiate with terrorists. They must be wiped out. Hit even harder so that the provocative and pointless in its essence attack on the Kursk region never happens again.”

Permission To Hit Russian Territory To Increase West’s Involvement In Conflict
Meanwhile, in an interview, Presidential Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov said that permission to hit Russian territory would increase the West’s involvement in the conflict in Ukraine and entail a reaction from Moscow.
“There is no need to exaggerate. But, naturally, this raises significantly the degree of the collective West’s involvement in this war around Ukraine,” he said.
“Of course, this will entail a corresponding reaction from Russia,” Peskov warned, commenting on the speculations that the West might make a positive decision on the issue of letting the Ukrainian military use its weapons for strikes deep into Russia.
He emphasized that “this is an attempt to continue the war to the last Ukrainian.”
