NPP Declares Unstoppable Path to Victory on December 7

A scene from the New Patriotic Party Final Rally at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has exuded unshakable confidence in its ability to secure a resounding victory in the December 7 general elections.

At the party’s final rally held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Thursday, December 5, General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua and Akuapem North parliamentary candidate Sammy Awuku delivered spirited addresses, rallying supporters for what they termed a “destiny-defining election.”

The event, which marked the crescendo of the NPP’s nationwide campaign, drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters clad in the party’s iconic red, blue, and white colors. The electrified atmosphere showcased the party’s determination to retain power and counter opposition efforts.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Justin Frimpong Kodua projected confidence in the party’s readiness to triumph in the polls. He highlighted the NPP’s track record, extensive preparations, and policies as cornerstones of its anticipated victory.

“We are winning the elections, and nothing can stop it. Bawumia is the incoming president, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot stop it,” Mr. Kodua declared, drawing thunderous applause.

The General Secretary accused the NDC of resorting to divisive tactics in a desperate bid to sway voters, condemning what he termed as “tribal politics and religious denigration” aimed at creating discord.  “Sensing their impending defeat, they have now resorted to tribal politics and religious denigration to create division,” he charged.

A Vote for Hope – Sammy Awuku

Sammy Awuku, the parliamentary candidate for Akuapem North Constituency and former NPP National Organizer, painted the 2024 election as a pivotal decision for the nation’s future.

He urged voters to choose the NPP for a brighter future, characterizing the election as a contest between hope and despair.

“The election before us is an election between hope and hopelessness. It’s a contest between the future and the past. The election before us is a destiny vote,” Mr. Awuku emphasized.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to delivering on its flagship policies, including enhancing the free Senior High School (SHS) program, job creation, and fostering financial stability for citizens.

“The free SHS, job creation, and money in the pockets of the youth are number one on the ballot paper. Don’t play with your destiny; vote wisely,” he admonished supporters.

In a direct jab at the opposition, Mr. Awuku dismissed their campaign promises as unrealistic and out of touch with the needs of the electorate.

“This election is not about a fake promise of offering you three chicks or running shifts at a nightclub. No, not at all. This election is about your future,” he declared.

The rally capped off months of intensive campaigning by the NPP across all 16 regions, with party leaders touting their achievements and outlining plans for a second term under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

With just two days to go before Ghanaians cast their ballots, the NPP is projecting an air of invincibility. However, the opposition NDC remains determined to mount a stiff challenge, setting the stage for what promises to be a fiercely contested election.
