GoldBod Jewellery Limited has announced a nationwide expansion drive, inviting individuals and organisations to partner with the company as sales agents, franchise owners, and strategic partners in a move aimed at deepening access to premium, locally produced gold jewellery across Ghana.

The call, issued in an official press release, forms part of what the company describes as an aggressive growth strategy to strengthen its presence in the domestic jewellery market while promoting value addition within Ghana’s gold industry.

The initiative aligns with broader national efforts to retain value from Ghana’s gold resources by encouraging local production and consumption of finished jewellery products rather than exporting raw materials. GoldBod Jewellery, a subsidiary of the Ghana Gold Board, has positioned itself as a key player in this transformation agenda, focusing on high-quality, locally crafted gold products.

Expansion Targets Local Access

According to the company, the expansion programme is designed to bring authentic Ghanaian gold jewellery closer to consumers across the country by leveraging partnerships with entrepreneurs and businesses.

The model allows selected partners to operate under the GoldBod brand while benefiting from its established reputation and operational support systems. By decentralising access through agents and franchise operators, the company aims to reach underserved markets and expand its customer base beyond major urban centres such as Accra and Kumasi, where it already operates multiple showrooms.

Management emphasised that the strategy is not only about business growth but also about making premium jewellery more accessible to everyday Ghanaians. The expansion effort reflects a broader shift in Ghana’s gold sector toward value addition, a move intended to reduce reliance on imported finished jewellery and promote local craftsmanship

Partnership Benefits and Opportunities

GoldBod Jewellery indicated that individuals and organisations selected under the programme will receive a range of benefits designed to support business growth and sustainability. These include strong brand backing, access to high-quality gold jewellery products, structured training programmes, and ongoing operational support.

The company noted that its products are largely handcrafted by Ghanaian artisans, showcasing local expertise and cultural identity while meeting international quality standards. Partners are expected to play a key role in expanding the reach of these products, contributing to job creation and economic activity within the jewellery value chain.

The initiative also presents an opportunity for entrepreneurs to tap into a growing market for luxury and investment-grade gold products, including jewellery and gold tablets, which are increasingly gaining attention among consumers. By working with established partners, GoldBod aims to ensure consistency in quality, branding, and customer experience across all locations.

Strengthening Ghana’s Gold Value Chain

The expansion drive is part of a larger vision to transform Ghana into a hub for gold value addition and jewellery manufacturing.Historically, much of Ghana’s gold has been exported in raw form, with limited local processing. However, recent policy and institutional reforms have sought to reverse this trend by promoting downstream activities such as refining, fabrication, and jewellery production.

GoldBod Jewellery’s growth strategy reflects this shift, focusing on keeping more value within the country while creating jobs and supporting local industries.Industry observers note that expanding access to locally made jewellery could also help build a stronger domestic market, reducing dependence on imported products and strengthening Ghana’s position in the global gold value chain.

Call for Applications

As part of the announcement, GoldBod Jewellery has invited interested parties who meet its partnership criteria to apply for consideration.Potential partners are encouraged to contact the company directly via its official phone line or visit its showroom in Accra for further information.

The company reiterated its commitment to building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver shared value while advancing its mission of making premium Ghanaian gold jewellery widely accessible.

This latest move signals a significant step in GoldBod Jewellery’s evolution from a traditional retail operation into a broader network-driven enterprise, leveraging partnerships to accelerate growth and deepen market penetration. With Ghana’s gold sector undergoing transformation and increasing emphasis on local value creation, initiatives such as this are expected to play a critical role in shaping the future of the industry.
