Bechem United striker Augustine Okrah and Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi have been rewarded for their exceptional performances in the Ghana Premier League after being named NASCO Player of the Month and NASCO Goalkeeper of the Month respectively for the period of April/May.
The pair stood out among a competitive field of nominees following a series of influential displays that helped their clubs finish the campaign strongly. For Okrah, the recognition crowns a remarkable spell in front of goal.
The experienced forward emerged as the most prolific player among the shortlisted candidates, delivering consistently impressive performances for Bechem United during the final stretch of the season.
Meanwhile, Ofori Antwi’s award highlights his importance at the opposite end of the pitch, with the veteran shot-stopper playing a crucial role in Berekum Chelsea’s successful battle to preserve their top-flight status.
Okrah’s Goal-Scoring Brilliance Earns Top Honour
Okrah beat off competition from Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams, Young Apostles forward Emmanuel Richmond Opoku, and Berekum Chelsea attacker Seidu Abubakari to secure the prestigious Player of the Month award.

The Bechem United talisman enjoyed a sensational run during April and May, scoring seven goals in six league matches. His contributions made him the highest-scoring nominee in the category and underlined his importance to his side’s attacking play which saw them retain their Premier League status.
Beyond his impressive goal tally, Okrah consistently delivered match-winning performances that kept Bechem United competitive throughout the closing weeks of the campaign.
His ability to find the back of the net in decisive moments proved invaluable as his team pushed for a strong finish and ultimately finishing second on the top scorers’ chart.
The former Asante Kotoko player also claimed a NASCO Player of the Match award during the period, further emphasizing the impact of his performances.
His latest individual accolade adds to an already distinguished career and serves as recognition for a player who continues to demonstrate quality and consistency despite years of experience at the highest domestic level.
As part of the award package, Okrah will receive a 43-inch NASCO television set as well as a NASCO double-door bottom-freezer refrigerator. The prizes are provided by Electroland Ghana Limited, sponsors of the NASCO Player of the Month award.
Ofori Antwi Key to Chelsea’s Survival Mission
While Okrah grabbed headlines with his goals, Ofori Antwi earned praise for his reliability between the posts.
The Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper overcame competition from Medeama SC’s Felix Kyei and Young Apostles’ Frank Boateng to clinch the Goalkeeper of the Month honour.

Ofori Antwi’s performances were instrumental in one of the league’s most impressive turnarounds. After spending a significant portion of the season battling in the relegation zone, Berekum Chelsea produced a strong run of results to secure their place in the Ghana Premier League for next season.
During the award period, the goalkeeper conceded only three goals in six matches while keeping three clean sheets. His consistency provided a solid foundation for a Chelsea side that won five of those six games and suffered just a single defeat.
Beyond the statistics, Ofori Antwi’s leadership and experience proved vital for a team operating under immense pressure. His commanding presence in the penalty area, quick reflexes, and ability to organize the defence helped Chelsea navigate a critical phase of the season.
With every point carrying enormous significance, the goalkeeper repeatedly delivered when called upon, producing important saves that preserved results and boosted the confidence of those around him.
His contribution has now been formally recognised through the NASCO Goalkeeper of the Month award, making him one of the standout performers of the closing months of the campaign.
In recognition of his achievement, Ofori Antwi will receive a special package from the Ex-Goalkeepers Union, including a branded towel, water bottles, and a commemorative T-shirt.
The latest monthly awards celebrate two players who excelled in different areas of the game but shared one common trait: delivering when their teams needed them most.
While Okrah dazzled with goals and attacking flair, Ofori Antwi provided assurance and stability at the back, making both men worthy recipients of the honours.
