Ghanaian music sensation Gyakie has sent waves of excitement through her fanbase with the announcement of an upcoming live performance in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

The singer, known for her soulful blend of Afrobeats, highlife, and contemporary R&B, shared a striking promotional poster on social media on Sunday, July 26, 2026, teasing what promises to be a memorable night of music under the banner “Gyakie LIVE.”

Presented by Flip The Music and Global Giants Entertainment, the event is billed as “Coming Soon” to the Garden City, igniting anticipation among fans eager to experience the artist’s dynamic stage presence in one of Ghana’s cultural heartlands.

The poster features a captivating nighttime aesthetic with a full moon, silhouetted palm trees, and Gyakie herself in a stylish outfit, evoking a sense of mystery and celebration. This visual teaser aligns perfectly with her recent artistic evolution, particularly following the release of her vibrant single “Treasure” in late June 2026.

That high-tempo Afrobeats-highlife fusion track has been praised as a feel-good anthem, further solidifying her reputation for delivering uplifting, dance-inducing music that resonates across generations.

Gyakie, whose real name is Jackline Acheampong, has steadily risen as one of Ghana’s most versatile and influential female artists. Daughter of legendary highlife musician Nana Acheampong, she brings a rich familial legacy to her work while carving out a distinct modern sound.

Her 2025 album After Midnight earned significant acclaim, achieving notable chart success including being the only female album to hit number one in the country at one point and garnering multiple nominations and considerations, including at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) and even Grammy buzz.

Despite not securing a win at the TGMA earlier this year, Gyakie responded with grace, congratulating fellow artists and reaffirming her commitment to growth and fan connection.

This upcoming Kumasi show represents more than just another concert date; it underscores Gyakie’s dedication to engaging directly with her audience across different regions of Ghana. Fans in the comments of her announcement post expressed overwhelming enthusiasm, with many from Kumasi and surrounding areas declaring their readiness to attend.

One follower wrote, “Can’t wait to see you in Kumasi o,” while another echoed similar sentiments of anticipation. The choice of Kumasi is strategic, tapping into the city’s vibrant cultural scene and passionate music lovers who have long supported highlife and its contemporary evolutions.

In recent months, Gyakie has demonstrated a strong commitment to her community and fans beyond the stage. She made headlines for surprise visits to everyday supporters, including a spare parts dealer in Abossey Okai whose viral appeal she personally fulfilled by visiting his workshop.

Similar stops at workplaces, schools, and university campuses like the University of Ghana highlighted her approachable persona and desire to uplift ordinary Ghanaians. These gestures have endeared her further to the public, painting her as an artist who values connection over celebrity distance.

The live performance announcement also comes at a pivotal time for Ghana’s music industry. With artists increasingly blending traditional sounds like highlife with global Afrobeats influences, Gyakie stands at the forefront of this fusion. Her tribute to late highlife icon Ebo Taylor earlier in the year, where she credited his music for shaping her childhood and sound during a BBC interview, reinforced her roots while signaling her forward-looking vision.

As she prepares for this Kumasi show, expectations are high for a setlist that spans her hits, new releases like “Treasure,” and perhaps fresh material teased in recent months.

Public Reaction

Industry observers note that live shows in secondary cities like Kumasi are crucial for sustaining momentum in Ghana’s entertainment ecosystem. They provide economic boosts to local vendors, transport services, and hospitality while giving fans outside Accra equitable access to major talents.

Global Giants Entertainment, a key partner for the event, has a track record of delivering high-quality productions, suggesting the Kumasi concert will feature impressive production values, lighting, and possibly special guest appearances.

For Gyakie, this performance fits into a broader 2026 agenda that she herself described as “Gyakie’s year.” With plans for more music, visuals, and tours, the Kumasi show serves as a milestone in expanding her live footprint. Details on the exact venue, date, and ticket information are expected to be released soon, with enquiries directed to provided contact numbers.

Fans are already speculating about set times, potential collaborations, and whether the show will coincide with any festive periods in the Ashanti Region.

As the announcement continues to gain traction online, with thousands of views and growing engagement, one thing is clear: Gyakie’s connection with her audience remains strong. From emotional moments like struggling to hold back tears at a friend’s memorial to joyful fan interactions and chart-topping releases, she continues to navigate fame with authenticity.
