Ghanaian culinary creator Chef Abbys, known fully as Abena Amoakoa Sintim-Aboagye, has announced her most ambitious project yet: a multi-country West Africa Food Tour beginning August 20, 2026.

The announcement, shared Tuesday on her social media platforms, marks the next chapter after her groundbreaking nationwide Ghana tour and a high-profile UK excursion earlier this year.

In a vibrant promotional poster released with the post, Chef Abbys appears in striking traditional attire, holding a colorful hand fan, set against a stylized map of West Africa. The design incorporates iconic landmarks, traditional utensils, and cultural motifs from across the region.

The tour will take her to Nigeria, Togo, Senegal, Cape Verde, Liberia, and Côte d’Ivoire. Partnerships and enquiries are being handled through My Runway Group, the organization supporting her growing portfolio of culinary storytelling projects.

“First it was Ghana Food tour, then it was UK food tour! NOW, CHEFABBYS TAKES WEST AFRICA!!! The next food tour is here,” she wrote in the accompanying post, which quickly drew strong engagement from fans across the continent and diaspora.

Chef Abbys has built a reputation as one of Africa’s leading food content creators by blending authentic cooking with cultural immersion and digital storytelling. Her approach goes beyond recipes.

She sits with local cooks, visits markets, learns techniques handed down through generations, and shares the histories and daily lives tied to each dish. This method turned her earlier tours into major cultural moments.

Her Ghana Nationwide Food Tour, conducted throughout March 2026, remains a landmark achievement. Over 25 days she traveled through 12 of Ghana’s 16 regions, from the Eastern Region’s mountains and forests to the historic coastlines of the Central Region, the bustling markets of Ashanti, and the northern landscapes of Upper East. She hosted pop-up cooking demonstrations, explored street food, and documented regional specialties rarely seen outside their communities.

Early data indicated the tour generated nearly 100 million views across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, and X. Her social media following grew by about 18 percent during the period. Observers noted a renewed sense of pride among Ghanaians and heightened international interest in the country’s diverse cuisine.

Building on that momentum, Chef Abbys launched a UK Food Tour in May 2026. The trip began with a courtesy visit to Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sabah Zita Benson. She collaborated with London-based creators, visited acclaimed African-inspired restaurants, and took over the kitchen at Snapchat’s London office, preparing Ghanaian meals for more than 300 staff members.

The tour featured masterclasses, cultural exchanges, and high-profile engagements aimed at elevating Ghanaian and broader West African cuisine on a global stage. Fans followed her journey closely, celebrating both the food and the representation of African creativity abroad.

The West Africa Food Tour represents a natural expansion of this work. By moving across borders within the region, Chef Abbys aims to highlight the shared culinary heritage and distinct local expressions that connect West African countries.

Dishes such as jollof rice variations, grilled meats, stews thickened with groundnuts or palm oil, fermented grain porridges, and seafood preparations will likely feature prominently, alongside the stories of the people who prepare them. Markets, family kitchens, street-side vendors, and cultural sites are expected to form the backbone of the itinerary, much as they did in Ghana.

Public Reaction

Supporters have already expressed excitement. Comments on her announcement celebrated the progression from national to international to regional focus. Many see the project as an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties, boost tourism interest, and give local cooks and food entrepreneurs greater visibility.

For young African creators, Chef Abbys continues to serve as an example of how digital platforms can amplify traditional knowledge and create professional opportunities.

Details of specific stops, collaborations, and public events are expected to emerge in the coming weeks. Those interested in partnerships have been directed to contact her through the email associated with My Runway Group.

The tour’s visual branding already signals an emphasis on both celebration and authenticity, using bold colors, traditional symbols, and imagery of transportation and daily life that will resonate with audiences familiar with the region.

Chef Abbys describes herself as a chef, African culinary storyteller, and philanthropist. Her work consistently returns to the idea that food carries identity, memory, and connection.

The timing of the West Africa tour, beginning in late August 2026, positions it as a major second-half highlight of the year for African food media. Following the success of her previous projects, expectations are high that the new tour will again combine high production values, genuine community engagement, and widespread digital reach.

As Chef Abbys prepares to cross borders with her team, the focus remains on the people and plates that define West African life. The announcement has already rekindled conversations about the power of food to unite communities and introduce regional flavors to new audiences. For followers who accompanied her through Ghana’s regions and then across London, the next chapter promises an even wider table.

The coming weeks will reveal more about the exact itinerary and featured experiences. What is already clear is that Chef Abbys intends to continue documenting West African cuisine with the same curiosity, respect, and energy that defined her earlier journeys.

The region’s diverse culinary landscape now awaits her exploration.
