Stonebwoy and Mellissa

Rising Ghanaian singer Mellissa has released the official music video for her collaboration with dancehall and Afrobeats powerhouse Stonebwoy on the track “Show Me.” The visual, described by the artist as a “music movie,” dropped on YouTube following an exclusive premiere watch party at Club Icon.

The song first appeared as a single on April 30, 2026, and features on Mellissa’s debut EP Diamond Baby, which arrived the following day. Blending R&B-tinged melodies with Afrobeats rhythms, “Show Me” captures a straightforward celebration of love and connection.

Critics have noted the pairing works particularly well, framing it as an intergenerational conversation between two distinct Ghanaian voices, one established, one emerging each bringing sincerity and weight to the material.

Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla and widely known as the TORCHER or 1GAD, remains one of Ghana’s most consistent international ambassadors for reggae, dancehall, and Afropop. A multiple Ghana Music Awards winner, including Artiste of the Year, and a past BET Awards recipient for Best International Act: Africa, he has built a career defined by energetic performances, global collaborations, and a loyal “BHIM Nation” fanbase. His participation elevates the track while introducing Mellissa’s sound to a broader audience.

Mellissa, who styles herself as a “Ghana bad gyal good gyal,” has steadily built momentum through earlier singles and features. Diamond Baby marked her first full project, showcasing range across R&B, pop, soul, Afrobeats, and highlife influences. “Show Me” stands out as a centerpiece that balances vulnerability and confidence, themes that run through much of her recent work.

The newly released video arrives months after the audio, a common strategy that allows a song to find its audience before the full visual treatment. The images circulating online capture chemistry and style that align with the song’s romantic, declarative tone.

Mellissa had teased the project earlier in the week, posting trailers and inviting fans to the Club Icon premiere on Saturday night ahead of the Sunday YouTube rollout.

In the lead-up, Mellissa posted playful content asking followers what kind of movie she and Stonebwoy would make together, building anticipation with stills and short clips. Early posts linking the official video on YouTube encouraged listeners to stream the track across digital service providers while celebrating the collaboration.

The release continues a pattern of strategic features that help newer artists gain visibility. Stonebwoy’s verse and presence provide both star power and credibility within the dancehall and Afrobeats communities. For Mellissa, the project reinforces the artistic identity established on Diamond Baby-one that prioritizes emotional clarity and melodic accessibility without sacrificing cultural rootedness.

Ghana’s music industry has seen sustained growth in global streams and international bookings in recent years. Artists like Stonebwoy have opened doors through consistent output and live performances, including high-profile shows abroad.

Collaborations of this kind help sustain that momentum by connecting generations and styles. “Show Me” sits comfortably in the current wave of Afro-fusion tracks that prioritize feel and storytelling over rigid genre boundaries.

Public Expectations

Viewers of the video will encounter a narrative-driven presentation rather than a simple performance clip, consistent with Mellissa’s description of it as a music movie. While full critical reviews of the visual are still emerging, the promotional images and early social media reactions suggest strong production values and attention to fashion, lighting, and chemistry between the leads.

Photographer Leon B’s contribution to the stills has already drawn positive notice within creative circles.

Streaming numbers for the audio single had already established a solid foundation before the video’s arrival. The visual is expected to extend the song’s lifespan on playlists and social platforms, particularly as short-form clips and behind-the-scenes content circulate.

Mellissa’s team and label partners under rain.labs have coordinated the rollout across major platforms, ensuring availability on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and other services.

For Stonebwoy, the feature adds another credit to an already extensive discography that spans albums, EPs, and high-profile guest appearances. His ability to adapt his distinctive delivery to different sonic environments remains one of his strengths.

On “Show Me,” the result is a complementary rather than dominant presence, allowing Mellissa’s voice and songwriting to remain central.

The timing of the video also coincides with ongoing activity in the Ghanaian scene. Artists continue to experiment with longer-form visuals and premiere events that create shared experiences for local audiences before wider digital distribution.

Club Icon’s role as host for the exclusive screening reflects the importance of physical gatherings even in an era dominated by online releases.

As the video gains views, attention will likely turn to how it positions Mellissa for subsequent releases and whether further joint work with established acts follows. For now, the project stands as a polished example of contemporary Ghanaian pop collaboration rooted in local talent, open to broader Afrobeats and R&B influences, and delivered with clear visual ambition.

Fans can stream “Show Me” and watch the official music movie on major platforms. The stills from the set, now widely shared, offer an elegant preview of the chemistry that drives both the song and its accompanying film.

In a competitive music landscape, the combination of strong songwriting, a high-profile feature, and considered visuals gives the release a solid foundation for continued attention in the weeks ahead.
