MobileMoney Fintech Ltd (MMFL) will open the 2026 edition of MoMoFest in Berekum on September 4, leveraging music, culture and community engagement to accelerate the adoption of digital financial services under its overarching ‘Do More with MoMo’ agenda.
The highly anticipated two-day Revival Concert, slated for September 4 and 5 at the iconic Golden City Park, will feature celebrated Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke and friends, and will serve as the headline event for a comprehensive three-week activation.
The activation is strategically focused on MoMo App onboarding, driving cashless payments, deepening merchant engagement and intensifying fraud education across the Bono Region and beyond. According to MMFL, the Berekum activation has been carefully structured to deliver sustained impact.
It will combine pre-festival sign-up drives across markets, lorry stations, campuses and community centres, festival-week immersive customer experiences, and post festival follow-up engagements designed to transition customers from mere awareness to confident, everyday use of the MoMo App and other digital financial services.
This approach, the company says, ensures that the excitement generated by the music and cultural celebrations is converted into lasting digital behaviour change. MoMoFest has evolved over the years into a nationwide platform for digital inclusion.
What began as a series of customer engagements has grown into a powerful movement that takes MoMo directly to customers through concerts, traditional festivals, tertiary campus activations, merchant fairs and grassroots community touchpoints that make digital finance practical, visible and relevant to everyday life.
By embedding financial education in entertainment and cultural moments that matter to Ghanaians, MMFL is breaking down barriers to adoption and demonstrating the real-life value of mobile money. Throughout the Berekum activation, customers and merchants will experience first-hand how MoMo simplifies daily transactions, supports the growth of small businesses, expands access to essential financial services and makes cashless payments more convenient, fast and secure.
For customers, this means being able to pay for goods and services, send and receive money, buy airtime and data, pay bills and access a growing suite of financial products, including savings, insurance and credit all from the MoMo App. For merchants and small businesses, it means faster settlements, improved sales tracking, access to a wider customer base and the ability to operate beyond cash.
A key component of the experience will be live demonstrations, assisted onboarding sessions, and interactive booths where attendees can download the MoMo App, link their accounts, and learn how to transact safely.
Customer Safety at the Core of MMFL
Customer safety will remain central to the entire MoMoFest experience. With the rise in digital transactions, MMFL says it is intensifying its commitment to protecting customers from fraud.
As part of the activation, dedicated teams will provide intensive education on common fraud tactics, the importance of PIN protection, how to verify transactions before confirming, and the official reporting channels for suspicious activity.
This reinforces MMFL’s core message that as customers do more with MoMo, they must also do it safely. The company continues to remind customers that MMFL will never ask for their PIN, that they should not entertain calls claiming they have won prizes, and that all transactions should be initiated by the customer themselves.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Head of Marketing at MobileMoney Fintech Ltd, Alfred Duowona-Hammond, said the festival provides a direct and engaging channel to deepen digital literacy while celebrating community identity.
“Our goal is simple: to help every customer do more with MoMo, and do it safely. MoMoFest gives us a direct and engaging way to show customers how MoMo can support everyday payments, business transactions and access to more financial services, while helping them stay alert and protected.’’
