Netflix has confirmed that the sixth and final season of its hit romantic comedy series Emily in Paris will premiere worldwide on Thursday, December 24, 2026, giving fans a Christmas Eve gift as the stylish adventures of Emily Cooper come to a close.

The series, created by Darren Star, follows Lily Collins as the optimistic American marketing executive who relocates from Chicago to Paris for a dream job, only to navigate cultural clashes, fashion dilemmas, professional ambitions, and a string of complicated romances against the backdrop of European glamour.

Season 6 arrives after production officially wrapped in mid-September 2026. Star Lily Collins marked the occasion with an emotional Instagram post, sharing a photo of herself seated in a chair marked “Fin” at Place de l’Estrapade in Paris-the very location where the series began.

In her lengthy caption, Collins described the experience as bittersweet, thanking creator Darren Star, the cast she called family, the crew, and the global audience that supported the show across seven years and six seasons. “Au revoir,” she effectively signed off on the character that turned her into a streaming star.

The final season picks up from the Season 5 cliffhanger. In that installment, which premiered in December 2025 and shifted much of the action to Rome, Emily ended her relationship with Italian love interest Marcello and returned to Paris.

There she received a postcard from Gabriel, the French chef played by Lucas Bravo, inviting her to join him in Greece after learning she was single again. The invitation left Emily’s romantic future deliberately unresolved heading into the last chapter.

According to the official logline released by Netflix, Season 6 finds Emily “stepping into a new era of ambition and romance” as she confronts defining choices that test her ultimate loyalties. Unexpected career conflicts and shifting relationships force her to reevaluate where her true future lies, culminating in one final decision between her career, her heart, and the life she has built in Paris.

Creator and showrunner Darren Star has described the season as the biggest Emily in Paris experience yet, with production spanning multiple locations including Greece. “That’s part of the fantasy of Europe: you’re always within reach of another extraordinary place, another culture, another adventure,” Star said in a statement. “I wanted the audience to have that vicarious experience of traveling right along with Emily.”

The full returning ensemble joins Collins, who also serves as a producer. Ashley Park reprises her role as best friend and aspiring singer Mindy Chen. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu returns as the formidable boss Sylvie Grateau. Lucas Bravo is back as Gabriel, alongside Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, and Paul Forman as Nico.

The season is expected to deliver the signature mix of high fashion, workplace intrigue, friendship dynamics, and romantic triangles that made the series a global phenomenon.

Emily in Paris debuted in October 2020 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most recognizable titles, earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for best comedy series in its first year. Its bright aesthetic, catchy soundtrack, and escapist vibe turned it into a cultural touchstone during the pandemic and beyond, inspiring fashion trends, travel fantasies, and endless online debates about Emily’s love life.

Subsequent seasons expanded the world beyond Paris to include Rome and now Greece, while maintaining the show’s light-hearted tone and glossy production values.

All ten episodes of the final season will drop at once on Christmas Eve, continuing the series’ tradition of late-year releases. Previous installments often arrived in December, though never precisely on a major holiday.

The timing positions the farewell as both a festive binge opportunity and a full-circle moment for a show that has long celebrated the romance of European city life.

Production’s recent wrap leaves a relatively tight post-production window for the December premiere. Industry observers note that the accelerated timeline reflects Netflix’s confidence in the material and its desire to deliver the conclusion while audience interest remains high following the Season 5 cliffhanger.

Public Reaction

Fans have already begun circulating theories about Emily’s ultimate choice whether she will pursue a future with Gabriel in Greece or beyond, recommit to her career in Paris, or chart an entirely new path.

The series has faced occasional criticism for its idealized portrayal of Paris and its American-centric perspective, yet its commercial success and devoted international following have never wavered.

Viewership numbers consistently placed new seasons near the top of Netflix’s global charts, and the show’s influence extended into real-world tourism and fashion.

As the final episodes approach, the conversation has shifted from speculation about renewal to anticipation of how Star and the writers will resolve Emily’s long-running romantic and professional arcs. Will the optimistic marketer who arrived in Paris with little more than determination and a bright smile find lasting fulfillment? The answer arrives on December 24.

For millions of viewers who have followed Emily’s evolution from cultural outsider to seasoned European professional, the Christmas Eve premiere offers both celebration and closure. Netflix’s decision to end the series on its own terms after six seasons allows the story to conclude while the fantasy remains intact.

When the final credits roll, Emily Cooper’s Paris chapter and the larger European adventure it became will take its place among the streamer’s most colorful original successes.

Until then, fans can revisit earlier seasons, debate favorite looks and love interests, and prepare for one last stylish send-off. The City of Light, and the wider European stage it opened onto, awaits its final curtain call on Christmas Eve.
