Six players have been shortlisted for the September NASCO Player of the Month award following outstanding individual performances in the opening month of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The nominees come from six different clubs, reflecting the competitive nature of the league and the number of players who made significant contributions to their respective teams during the month of September.
FC AshantiGold 04 winger David Gyamfi Junior, FC Samartex midfielder Meshack Adjetey Sowah, Debibi United midfielder Richard Owusu, Aduana FC forward Stephen Amankona, Heart of Lions centre-back Abdul Jalilu and Karela United midfielder Zaidan Mohammed make up the six-man shortlist.
Gyamfi Junior emerged as one of the leading goalscorers among the nominees after scoring three goals in three matches for FC AshantiGold 04. The winger also claimed one NASCO Man of the Match award during the month.
Adjetey Sowah, who joined FC Samartex on transfer deadline day, featured in all four of the club’s matches in the past month, contributing one goal and two assists. His performances also earned him one NASCO Man of the Match award.
Richard Owusu was equally influential for newly promoted Debibi United, scoring two goals and providing two assists in four appearances. The midfielder also collected one NASCO Man of the Match award.

Amankona’s nomination follows a two-goal return in four matches for Aduana FC including one in their famous 2-0 win against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium. Although he did not register an assist, his goalscoring contribution earned him a place among the six players competing for the monthly prize.
Jalilu brings a defensive dimension to the shortlist after playing four matches for Heart of Lions. The centre-back did not score or provide an assist but was named NASCO Man of the Match twice, the highest number among the six nominees.
Zaidan Mohammed completes the list after scoring twice in four appearances for Karela United. The midfielder also received one NASCO Man of the Match award during September.
He netted the winning goal as Karela United beat Hearts of Oak 1-0 in Tamale in their last game in the month of September.

Agyemang, Tanko Shortlisted for Coach of the Month
The Player of the Month shortlist comes alongside the nominations for the September NASCO Coach of the Month award, with FC Samartex head coach Nana Kweku Agyemang and Medeama SC head coach Tanko Ibrahim selected for their respective unbeaten runs.
Both coaches recorded two wins and two draws from four matches during September, ensuring their teams remained unbeaten throughout the month.
Agyemang’s Samartex scored six goals and conceded three, while Tanko’s Medeama produced the highest attacking output of the two, scoring eight goals and conceding four.

The parallel recognition highlights the strong September campaigns of both clubs and the individual contributions that helped their teams maintain unbeaten records.
The NASCO Player of the Month award is part of the Ghana Premier League’s monthly awards programme, with Electroland Ghana Limited providing prizes under its NASCO brand.
The eventual winner of the September Player of the Month award will receive a 43-inch NASCO Television and a NASCO Double-Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator.
The Coach of the Month winner will similarly receive a 40-inch NASCO Television and a NASCO Double-Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator.
