NPP Flagbearership Race: Bawumia Not A Superhuman- Kabiru Mahama

Office of Vice President Elucidates Job Creation Numbers Report

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

Dr. Kabiru Mahama, a team member of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, has defended the potential flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party against charges of lying.

Dr. Mahama argued that comments labeling the Vice President a liar are “very unfortunate and far-fetched” because he consistently refers to reports on the subjects he discusses in his speeches.

He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia is “not a superhuman” and occasionally makes mistakes, but those errors cannot be directly linked to him when he is citing a cited source.

According to Dr. Mahama, the Vice President’s speeches include fact-checked copies of every document he uses, therefore he hardly ever spreads false information.

“The Vice President can get statements wrong because he is not a superhuman, but he speaks on data available to him and so let’s say if for example, I go to cite a UN report that is indicting a particular administration and I say according to so-and-so, it doesn’t mean I am the one who has lied. And so if there is a lie, it is the misinformation that is coming from the sourced document.

“However, the Vice President has never said anything that has not been fact-checked by the team before he delivers his speech. I have always dared anyone to give a single example of something that the Vice President has said that is not true. For instance, if he promises to deliver something that is a government promise, the fact that it has not been completed does not mean that it is a lie. The Vice President will never mention anything that he is not sure about.”

Alan Kyerematen Will Beat Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

Deputy spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer candidate, Alan Kyerematen, however voiced optimism that Mr. Kyerematen will prevail in the first round of voting, preventing the party’s presidential primary from going to a run-off.

Alan Kyerematen is predicted to win only if the primary enters a second round, according to a recent study by Global InfoAnalytics.

However, Mr. Richard Nyamah has firmly asserted that there would be no need for a run-off because Alan Kyerematen is anticipated to win the election easily in the first round.

According to Mr. Nyamah, the poll’s findings show that Alan Kyerematen has a sizable following, with a sizable proportion of participants who did not declare their ballots likely supporting him. He emphasized that the undecided participants are likely aligned with the undisclosed participants, many of whom are supporters of Alan Kyerematen.

Mr. Nyamah ascribed the unwillingness to reveal their support to intimidation, especially among those in positions of authority.

“There is not going to be a second round because if you look at the undecided and the undisclosed votes, they are more than all the other candidates put together. In each of the scenarios the survey is painting, Alan is the winner. The first scenario is that he is going to be the winner and the reason is that there is a percentage of about 10 percent of the participants who did not disclose their votes and I can tell you on authority that the majority of those participants are Alan supporters.”

He further said that the undecided participants, the majority of whom are followers of Alan, are also members of the undeclared participants, and that they are merely faking where they belong, since being an open Alan supporter is very intimidating.

He emphasized that people would rather remain silent if they supported Alan and held a position of authority in the government.

Mr. Nyamah stated that there is strong evidence that points to Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen as the automatic Presidential candidate for the NPP, contradicting the survey’s conclusions that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is in the lead.

On the day of the primary, he expressed confidence that voters would publicly announce their support for Kyerematen.
