Talented Ghanaian Saxophonist, Mizter Okyere

Ghanaian Saxophonist, Mizter Okyere has revealed how he met former USA President Donald Trump in 2020 after doing his ‘YMCA’ campaign sax cover.

Speaking in an interview, he disclosed how playing saxophone has brought numerous benefits to his life.

“I happened to be in the USA during the lockdown in 2020 and that year was also an election year in the country and Trump’s song was trending.

“YMCA was the song and it was really trending on social media in the USA during the election year in 2020 and I did the sax cover of that song”.

Also, he revealed that after he released the sax cover of Donald Trump’s song, he had a call in the USA that his cover has been seen and Donald Trump would love to see him.

He disclosed:

“I thought it was a joke when they said Trump wanted to see me and I was booked and taken to where Trump was holding his rally which was Hollywood in California and I met Trump.

“During that time my visa to stay in the USA had expired but they renewed it for me and so sax has brought so many benefits in my life so far so good”.

Lots of money is made from playing musical instruments

A saxophonist, Born Daniel Okyere Donkor but popularly known as Mizter Okyere advised parents to allow their kids to learn how to play musical instruments.

The instrumentalist and producer revealed that every child should be given at least a day within the week to do rehearsals.

During an interview, the 2019 Best Instrumentalist of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) said he makes a lot of money from playing saxophone.

He said:

“There’s more money in playing musical instruments and so I would advise parents to allow and encourage their kids who play either saxophone or trumpet and co.”.

He advised:

“Even if you don’t want your child to play musical instruments on a full-time basis, just allow the child to have a day within the week to use it for their rehearsals to build up.

“When the person travels abroad, there music is something and when you play a musical instrument at a show for just five to ten minutes, you can make like $3,000 to $4,000”.
