Ghanaian singer-songwriter and recording artist, Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome also known in showbiz as Cina Soul has said that she expects greater things from the record label she is signed unto, Universal Music Group.
Cina Soul made this known during an interview on the Showbiz
The ‘orjorley’ hit maker lamented that she feels things should have been bigger than it is at the moment looking at the record label she is signed unto, but somehow, she feels a bit disappointed because it is not going as expected.
“It’s been my worry and I probably never said it before but yes it has been my worry working with them. Because sometimes I do expect a lot from them. That is my very first label. I have never really wanted to sign unto any label. [In] my entire career I have [received] so many offers but I decided to stay independent. But I gave them a chance and yes, I expect greater things I won’t lie about that. They’ve made some promises, so I hope they leave up to it”.
She further bemoaned that she sometimes feels restricted by the record label, as the songs she records sometimes gets rejected on the premise of her songs not meeting the label’s standards.
“Sometimes I fell restricted, sometimes the song doesn’t meet the standard, according to them. So, it’s like you record and it gets bounced, and it’s sometimes hurtful. Apparently, if you speak to other artist, they tell you that is how it is; so, you have to deal with it”.
Speaking on the controversies on social media, about her being in a relationship with Kidi, Cina Soul emphasized that, indeed she has thought of the possibility of dating him but then again, she is not in any romantic relationship as she deems him a good friend and a brother.
“Oh yes, I have thought about it before because my friends say it all the time. They are always like, Cina don’t you think that if you date him… then I think about it and I am like yeah, because he is a great person…but we can be like best friends because some of the things I share with him and he with me, and how crazy we are in the studio, I think it would have been ideal if there was a relationship. But then again he is like a brother to me”.

When asked why she does not do a lot features as it helps expand an artist’s fan base, she answered by saying: “I have actually done a couple of features, but I don’t rush into features because I believe that I have to get the perfect song for that person. I have to see the person on the song. If I don’t see the person on the song, I won’t send it because I want to get a quick hit or try to break into somebody’s market because it could go bad”.
She concluded by thanking her fans for all the support they have given her and further announced the release of her music video for her newly released single ‘Die 4 U’.
She disclosed that the video to the song released today, December 17,2020, is a simple one but of course with a little bit of drama as it was shot by Gene Adu, who is also behind her award-winning ‘Killi Mi’ video.
