The biological mother of the afro-pop songstress, Becca has passed away in London, UK, after a short illness.
Reports have confirmed Madam Yiadom-Oti’s death, and Becca hasn’t released any official statement following the report.
The relationship between Becca and her mother has not been on a positive note, as they washed their dirty linen in public in 2019. Her mother made several accusations against her and even called Becca’s husband, Daniel Oluwatobi Sanni, a thief, saying that he married her daughter because of her wealth.
According to Becca’s mother,Julie, Becca had not talked to her in about one year and even failed to inform her of the pregnancy because Becca’s husband had accused her of being a witch.
The livid woman further revealed that Tobi, around the time of his marriage ceremony with Becca in August 2018, had suggested that he would let her off from the daughter’s life and she was thus not surprised.
Guessing what might have incited Tobi to take such a decision, Becca’s mother stated that she believed her continuous warnings to her daughter to be prudent about her finances when the talk of marriage started did not go down well with Tobi.
The mother further stated that she was only doing her duty as a good mother and so Tobi would not be worried or trying to secure the bag if he was not a thief who has his eyes on her daughter’s money.
“I’m not the one in charge of Becca’s finances, the only advice I give her constantly is that she should be careful of how her wealth is managed. But since Tobi is a thief, a thief always thinks another thief is coming to steal something from him” Julie said.
She also revealed that her son-in-law, Becca’s husband, Tobi Sanni, wanted to turn her into a cleaner. According to reports, the mother said her failure to do the cleaning job made her an enemy to Becca and her Nigerian husband.
Narrating how it all happened, Becca’s mom said she was instructed by Sanni to tidy up their wedding grounds after the event. The couple had their wedding at Sanni’s mother’s house, meaning that Becca’s mother was expected to go clean her in-law’s house, a circumstance she felt was very demeaning.
According to her, the call came too late because she had already left the venue for the hotel where she was lodging. Madam Oti added that she would have gladly cleaned the event grounds but it happened to be for her in-law and she had no control over it.
However, Becca seemed careless about her mother’s rants as videos showed her chilling with her husband and assuring him of her massive love. She later commented that there was “plenty nonsense” everywhere when the mother started making her allegations.
In three posts, Becca wrote that “she loves driving people insane”. In another post, Becca simply wrote “plenty nonsense”. And yet in another post, Becca wrote: “Tell me what’s your drive”.
Her husband responded to one of the posts calling Becca “my entire world” as if to let her know that no matter what issues she is being confronted with, he would always be there with her
However, unlike Becca’s husband, her fans chastised her with some asking her to beg her mother for forgiveness. Some of them believed that by writing “plenty nonsense”, Becca was talking about her mother which is very unfortunate.
