Criticize Me All You Want, I’m Not Bothered – Becca

Ghanaian musician, Rebecca Acheampong famed Becca, has said that she is not tickled when people criticize her for bleaching.

Becca noted that she expects negative comments on social media so far as she is a celebrity, posts on her social media handles, and has many people following her.

“It’s content. At the end of the day, I put it out there and I should have expected that. So if you don’t want people to talk about it when you’re putting something out there, you need to be careful. I put it out there already and there was nothing I could do about it,” she said.

The musician has falsified claims that she has bleached.

According to her, she uses a certain filter which makes her social media pictures look like she has bleached her skin.

Becca revealed that she is never ready to stop using the filter because people are talking about it and she is not going to reply to those comments.

“I wasn’t going to explain myself a million times because even in the caption, I made them know that it was a Snapchat filter that everybody uses and I keep using it. I even used it this morning because I like it. So I’m not going to change using my filter because of what people are going to say,” she explained.

She further added that she does not read comments under her social media posts so she is not tickled by the harsh comments people leave in the comment section of her posts.

“Honestly, I don’t read comments. I never read comments because at the end of the day… everyone has an opinion of things. So if I’m going to be hurt by every single person’s opinion, I’m human and I have feelings”, she said.

“But the thing is that when you have done something for so long and you understand the dynamics of it, you cannot be bothered so much because you understand that these are people out there who just want attention,” she further added.

According to her, as long as no one comes to physically attack her, she does not have a problem with anyone.

Becca’s statement comes after a recent video of her leaving the gym sparked another round of skin-bleaching allegations on social media. Many users have compared her current look to her previous pictures and accused her of altering her natural beauty to please her Nigerian husband.

Speaking On Hiatus From The Music Scene

Becca revealed that it was really hard deciding to stay away from doing music for some time.

She stated that seeing people release new music was difficult to see.

“I felt 100%. That’s why I said I had to make a conscious [decision]. And I had to tell myself that you have to do this and do it for yourself. It was really hard watching people on stage, and seeing people release new music and I was thinking ‘Oh my God, I have so much nice music. What am I going to do with it?’,” she stated.

She further stated that music is her career and something she loves to do the most aside from everything she does.

Becca noted that there were certain decisions she needed to take for her sanity’s sake, her family, and her home, adding that she does not regret those decisions she took because it is going to make her a better person when she gets into the industry.

“I think it is going to make me a better person when I get into the industry because I understand the dynamics of something and I can run a home and still be in the industry if I want to be,” she noted.

Becca also expressed gratitude for the transformative power of marriage in her life and highlighted the importance of companionship and the support she receives from her husband in navigating life’s challenges.

The award-winning artist acknowledged that marriage has brought a sense of stability and balance to her life.
