Amanda Jissih Lambasts Edward Akwasi Boateng

Edward Akwasi Boateng and Amanda Jissih

Entertainment commentator Amanda Jissih has voiced strong criticism against gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng, denouncing what she perceives as his excessive sense of entitlement within the industry.

The controversy arose when Akwasi Boateng expressed disappointment in fellow musician MOGmusic for allegedly failing to honor a pledge to recognize him at an event.

Jissih clarified that Boateng had left the event before the scheduled recognition due to unforeseen delays.

“There was just so much going on with him [MOGmusic], so it wasn’t that he ignored or had forgotten. Getting to the end of the show, he [MOGmusic] tried looking for him [Edward], but he wasn’t there. The plan was that after everything, they would make their accounts and honor their pledge.

“Times are hard and so if someone promises you something, you need to be aware that they do not owe you. It’s not by force that they must give you something. That sense of entitlement should die down. We acknowledge that you have worked hard but you are not entitled to anyone’s money. There was no point in going to grant interviews.”

Amanda Jissih

Jissih emphasized the need for gratitude and understanding, highlighting Boateng’s recent public struggle to make ends meet after personal challenges.

“He is even at fault because he didn’t wait till the end of the show to see what would happen, he left early. If he had waited till the end and was not recognized, then he would have a point because awards are not given at the beginning of a show. So he should take it easy. The entitlement is too much.”

Amanda Jissih

She pointed out that several individuals and organizations, including Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson-Eshun and supporters of Angel TV and Angel FM, had extended generous support to Boateng in his time of need

Expressing disapproval of Boateng’s public criticism of MOGmusic, Jissih urged humility and patience, noting that entitlement could hinder rather than help in such situations.

Entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa chastised gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng for his attitude towards the various donations and gifts he has been receiving.

It can be recalled that a video of the veteran gospel musician selling pen drives and CDs for survival went viral on social media.

However, Akwasi Boateng has been amid controversies following comments about some donations in interviews.

Akwasi Boateng reportedly described a donation as ‘too small’, adding that MOGmusic had pledged to honor him but did not fulfill his promise.

Vida Adutwumwaa airing her displeasure, claimed that such an attitude could discourage future donations from others.

“I saw an interview where someone gifted him GH₵1000 and he said the money was too small for him and he was expecting more. How can he say that? With the pen drives he sells, will he be able to make GH₵1000 from selling them?

“The attitude he has been displaying is bad. If I were the one who gave him the money, I would have gone back for it. Because he cannot appreciate GH₵1000, then how much is he expecting people to give him?”

Vida Adutwumwaa

Vida further cautioned the musician to appreciate the help he has been receiving.

“If I were MOGmusic, I wouldn’t even give him the plaque and the money pledged to him. I would give it to a more humble gospel artist. It’s difficult to make money nowadays; people have to pay bills and other things. And they have taken the little they have to give him and he says it is not enough. So let him appreciate the little he has been given and stop being so entitled to other people’s money.”
