Mussa Dankwah, founder of Global InfoAnalytics, has released a poll conducted in April 2024, which reveals Ghanaians’ varied views on the country’s socio-economic and political direction. The survey highlights a mix of concerns and optimism among citizens.
Musa Dankwah revealed that a striking 65% of voters in the April 2024 national poll believe Ghana is on the wrong track, while 25% are optimistic about the country’s direction, and 10% remain undecided or neutral.
Notably, Musa Dankwah pointed out that a significant majority of NPP voters – 63% – are optimistic about Ghana’s trajectory, believing the country is headed in the right direction.
In contrast, 29% of NPP voters expressed concern, saying the country is headed in the wrong direction, while 8% remained neutral or undecided.
“I have earlier indicated that it is the NPP voters who are creating problems for NPP in December polls, at least according to the data. The poll shows that 71% of NPP voters who intend to vote for Mahama believe that Ghana is headed in the wrong direction”.

Furthermore, Mussa Dankwah disclosed that 23% of NPP voters who think Ghana is on the right track still plan to vote for Mahama, showing a notable level of support for the opposition among NPP voters who are otherwise optimistic.
Moreover, Mussa Dankwah noted that 70% of NPP voters who intend to vote for Dr. Bawumia believe Ghana is on the right track, showing a strong link between backing for the Vice President and optimism about the country’s direction.
More so, he indicated that despite believing Ghana is headed in the wrong direction, 22% of NPP voters still plan to vote for Dr. Bawumia, showing a level of loyalty to the Vice President.
NPP Voters’ Mixed Views on Ghana’s Direction
Moreover, Mussa Dankwah stated that for those who intend to vote for Alan Kyerematen and are NPP voters, 42% say Ghana is headed in the right direction while 52% of them believe it is headed in the wrong direction.
Among NPP voters supporting Nana Kwame Bediako, 10% believe Ghana is headed in the right direction, but a majority – 70% – believe the country is on the wrong track, showing a significant level of dissatisfaction with the NPP.
“Voters’ living conditions, cost of living, inflation, exchange rate, and the economy, in general, is fueling NPP voters to abandon their candidates. You disagree with this conclusion but the data is the evidence we have to speak without emotions”.

Furthermore, he emphasized that, to have a realistic chance of winning in December, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia must tackle the pressing issues of inflation, cedi stabilization, and improving living conditions, thereby restoring public trust and confidence.
This requires a concerted effort to address the economic challenges, enhance the overall quality of life, and rebuild trust with the electorate, which is crucial for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s political survival and success.
As such, Mussa Dankwah warned that should Dr. Bawumia fail to address these key issues, he’ll likely fall short in the December 2024 polls, emphasizing that anything less than real progress will jeopardize his political chances.
Moreover, Mussa Dankwah revealed that data on the President’s approval and voting intentions for the December 2024 election will be published soon, offering a glimpse into public opinion and political preferences.
He emphasized that the forthcoming data will provide Ghanaians with a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between the country’s trajectory, the President’s approval ratings, and the potential outcome of the December 2024 elections.
