Veteran Ghanaian actress and TV personality, Nana Ama McBrown has shared her captivating and inspiring story of how she rose to fame in the film industry, from her darkest moments to her most triumphant successes.

From her humble beginnings, her struggles after being deported to finding her big break at Miracle Films, to her current status as a TV personality and actress.

“I was deported and frustrated, crying every day. But one day, I tuned into Fox FM and heard an interview with Kwame Owusu Ansah, who left behind contact information for Miracle Films. I went there, and God opened doors for me.”

At Miracle Films, she met people who helped her and told her to register if she wanted to act. “I registered, but I didn’t have money. I promised to bring the money later, and they allowed me to register,” she added.

Nana Ama McBrown auditioned at the Cultural Center but was surprised to find that the roles had already been assigned.

Despite the initial confusion, Nana Ama McBrown’s determination paid off.

“They were trying to figure out who to give the roles to. I sat and watched, thinking I would read the script, but they were auditioning themselves.

“The president of Miracle Films said they wanted to create a crew from Kumasi, and I stood up, offering to assist with costumes. He told me to come and learn, and that’s how my journey began.”

Reflecting on her journey, Nana Ama McBrown emphasized the importance of perseverance and learning.

“I didn’t know what costume meant, but I was willing to learn. I told him, teach me, and I’ll do it. And that’s how I started my career in the film industry.”

Actress Narrates Significant Changes in Motherhood

Nana Ama McBrown shared her transformative journey of motherhood, revealing how becoming a mother has altered her perspective on life.

McBrown opened up about the significant changes she has experienced since giving birth to her daughter, Maxine.

She highlighted the newfound sense of responsibility and purpose motherhood has brought her.

“I knew I had children at home, but when I gave birth, one thing I would say has changed a lot of things around me, the way I think… Right now, I wake up in the morning, I say God help me do this. Don’t kill me if I die right now, looking at what I’ve gone through and what is right now.”

McBrown emphasized the importance of living for her daughter, Maxine, stating, “I mean, there’s nothing like losing a mother… So, don’t let me die and leave my daughter… It hits me sometimes, and I feel like the next thing I need right now is a long life.”

The actress also acknowledged the impact of her actions on her daughter’s future, saying, “Aside from that, I know that right now, everything I do will be on the internet, and Maxine will wake up one day in the future to read all that, so my steps must be ordered accordingly.”

McBrown’s heartfelt words offer a glimpse into the profound effects of motherhood on her life, serving as a reminder of the significance of family and legacy.

As a prominent figure in Ghanaian entertainment, McBrown’s story inspires and resonates with many, showcasing the transformative power of motherhood.

In other news, the TV personality revealed that she really wants to have another baby and may opt for surrogacy if the need be. 

According to the celebrated actress, she started getting worried over her inability to give birth at age 32. 

The beautiful and multiple-award-winning actress gave birth to her first and only child [a girl] in Canada at age 41.
