Radio personality and disc jockey Andy Dosty, has rendered an unqualified apology to Okese1, and fans of the musician, for driving him away from the studios of Hitz FM, following a misunderstanding that ensued between them.
The celebrated radio presenter was under the subject of discussion after he ordered the young musician to walk out of the studio. He made his apology during an interview on Neat FM, where he mentioned that he was expecting a certain vibe from Okese1 but he didn’t get it, and that resolved him to ask if everything was fine with the rapper, but Okese1 took the issue in a different light and that brought about the confrontation between them. However, Andy said he is sincerely sorry for what happened. He further noted that his platform is there to propel musicians and not to bring them down.
“It is unfortunate things turned out that way. First of all, I’ll lay away all arrogance, ego aside and apologize to his fans and him personally for what transpired… I have already apologized on my platform and I have said I like his music. When I was coming to work I had planned all the questions I was going to ask him, because, he used just ‘Yie Yie’ in his song, and I wanted to get that vibe from him. I am, pleading with his fans and himself that something of this sort happened. I don’t have a problem with him, and the platform that I have is there to help a lot of musicians. Several people have benefited but, unfortunately, such a thing happened”.

Addressing Okese1 directly, Andy iterated that he was sorry, and further emphasized that there was the need for him to instill discipline when it comes to his show. According to Andy, irrespective of your age, or status he will and must ensure that there is discipline on his show.
Okese1 in replying to what Andy had said also apologized saying: “All the insult I reigned on him, was all out of pain, because, I was deeply hurt by what happened since, I had a lot of respect for him. So, when that transpired I felt bad…but, if he has apologized then I am also very sorry for insulting him because he plays a major role here in Ghana, and above all, he is an elderly man. So, I have to show him enough respect. I also plead with his fans that I went on social media to insult him. If he is even ready for a collaboration I will avail myself anytime to do it”.
Andy Dosty took the opportunity to advise young artists and cautioned that up and coming artists should be able to humble themselves and accept when they are wrong instead of being arrogant.
“Let’s call a spade a spade, arrogance is what is bothering our young artists today…you never know where you will need someone’s help… let’s just be careful… I don’t charge anything for the interview and he disappointed the fans for coming in late. So, the best, he Okese1, could have easily done was to plead with his fans, that’s all”.
