Akwaboah Advises Men Against Polygamy

Akwaboah

Ghanaian Highlife sensation, Akwaboah has advocated that men respect female figures in their lives.

He said there was a great blessing in doing this diligently.

“If you have your mother’s, your wife’s, and your mother-in-law’s love and prayers, you’ll be unstoppable,” he said.

He categorically stated cheating and polygamy in the name of imitating some patriarchs in the Bible was a dangerous path. He buttressed his point by underlining Jacob’s heartache and domestic turmoil after marrying two women.

He noted King Solomon, despite God’s favor and divine wisdom given him, ended up bowing to multiple idols because he lusted for women. He alluded to King David’s kingdom being split in two because adultery led him to murder when he encountered Bathsheeba.

However, according to Gladstorm Akwaboah Jr, the more disturbing thing compared to cheating was doing it without remorse and constantly disrespecting one’s partner.

The ‘My Darling’ hitmaker rebuked men who were into the said habit, especially because of their financial strength.

“If you grieve your woman and cause her to cry all the time, you may be arrogant today thinking you have money but watch out for when you unfortunately get bedridden with sickness, you’ll learn the hard way not to maltreat your wife or children.”

The newlywed disputed the notion that men were naturally unfaithful, citing the first couple mentioned in the Bible.

“God made Adam and Eve. He did not create Adam with Eve and another woman. When he made a suitable helper for man, it was only one person not two,” Akwaboah said, arguing polygamy was unnatural and immoral.

“This is why I made the song ‘Obiaa’ saying, ‘I came into this life to love only you’. Some people did not understand this. Some people challenged the idea of being lovingly devoted to only one person but naturally, if you observe, God made one for one.”

Akwaboah

He expressed bewilderment at men who were unfaithful no matter how attractive, submissive, resourceful and sexual adventurous their wives were.

The multiple award-winning composer lamented: “Men bring on themselves unnecessary pressure” adopting promiscuous and polygamous lifestyles.

The Highlife star said, “For now – I’m not an angel just like everyone else – so I cannot personally say I will be faithful or otherwise” even though he categorically emphasized steering clear of marital infidelity because it led, in his view, to ruination.

Akwaboah noted infidelity was not solely a male flaw, adding that some women are heavily unfaithful but it’s secretly done.

Akwaboah Ready To Perform For Political Parties

The Highlife artist expressed interest in performing for political parties but he will not compose campaign songs for them.

The “Obiba” hitmaker explained that he prefers creating music that benefits the entire country rather than supporting a specific political group.

“If you call me to perform, I would, but if it is to compose a song, no, I can’t. I would rather compose for Ghana as a whole,” Akwaboah said.

He further explained that composing a song for a political party could have negative consequences, especially if the party fails to win the election. Akwaboah believes it is more beneficial to write songs that promote the development of the entire nation.

“If I do a song for Ghana and the country progresses, it would benefit all of us, but if I compose a song for a single political party and it doesn’t work out, it would affect me negatively.”

Akwaboah

During elections, some musicians compose songs for various political parties to be used for campaign activities in their bid to win over voters.
