Dr. Clement Apaak

Hon. Clement Abas Apaak, MP for Builsa South, supports John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, in his criticism of the NPP for allegedly funding and promoting misleading opinion polls.

Hon. Apaak emphasized that all credible polls indicate a predicted victory for the NDC ahead of the 2024 elections.

He noted that the NDC is aware of the situation and remains vigilant despite the actions of the Jean Mensah-led Electoral Commission.

As such, the MP asserted that it is essential to collectively condemn the NPP/Dr. Bawumia camp for attempting to mislead Ghanaians with fabricated and deceptive polls.

“A few days before InfoAnalytics and Fitch Solutions published and spoke to their recent polls, the DMB [Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia]/NPP camp knowing that the poll numbers won’t favour them, preemptively paid 9 newspapers to publish the outcome of a cooked poll to hoodwink unsuspecting Ghanaians into believing that DMB was ahead of JDM [John Dramani Mahama]”.

Furthermore, Hon. Apaak pointed out that an earlier fabricated poll, allegedly conducted by a Director of Research at the Presidency, falsely predicted a runoff between the main political parties.

He emphasized that this misleading poll was not only baseless but also designed to create confusion and uncertainty among the electorate.

According to the MP, the fabricated findings were reportedly included in a deliberately leaked document attributed to the Director of Research, raising questions about the integrity of the source.

He indicated that this misleading information was subsequently given extensive coverage by pro-NPP media outlets, which amplified its reach and impact.

Accordingly, Hon. Apaak called for heightened scrutiny of such polls, urging the public to critically evaluate the motives behind them and to remain informed about the true political landscape in Ghana.

Hon. Apaak Highlights Polls Showing NDC’s Advantage

Furthermore, Hon. Clement Abas Apaak stated that the reality is quite different from the claims being made by the NPP.

He indicated that insider sources have confirmed that internal polls conducted by the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP camp, along with reputable surveys from NIB and Blue Gate, all indicate that John Dramani Mahama and the NDC are currently ahead of Dr. Bawumia in the race.

Hon. Apaak emphasized that these findings reflect the true sentiment of the electorate, contrary to the misleading narratives being circulated.

He pointed out that the consistent support for Mahama demonstrates the public’s growing confidence in the NDC as a viable alternative to the current administration.

“The reason why all credible and legitimate polls favour JDM/NDC, are self-evident. The abysmal and atrocious record of the current NPP government, from which DMB cannot extricate himself, will not and cannot be forgotten nor forgiven by Ghanaians”.

Hon. Clement Abas Apaak

Hon. Apaak also asserted that the vast majority of Ghanaians, as the true custodians of this Republic, will not grant Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP a third term in office.

He emphasized that voters are increasingly aware of the negative impact of the current administration’s policies and will not support Dr. Bawumia to perpetuate the socio-economic and political challenges that have afflicted the nation over the past few years.

Hon. Apaak highlighted several pressing issues, including rampant corruption that has eroded public trust in government institutions.

He pointed out that instances of state capture have compromised the integrity of public services, leaving ordinary citizens feeling neglected and marginalized.

According to the MP, economic mismanagement, characterized by reckless borrowing and unaddressed fiscal deficits, has led to widespread disillusionment among the populace.

Hon. Apaak indicated that the government’s failure to address the galamsey crisis—illegal mining activities that harm the environment and deplete natural resources—has fueled public outcry.

He stated that this, coupled with the imposition of heavy taxes that feel punitive to the average citizen, is clear that many Ghanaians are yearning for a change.

Hon. Apaak concluded by stating that the electorate is ready for a new direction, one that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and genuine development, and that the NDC is poised to provide that leadership.
