The National Identification Authority has announced a temporary recruitment exercise to support a nationwide registration of children aged between six and fourteen years.
The initiative aims to capture the biometric and personal data of eligible children onto the National Identity Register as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Ghana’s national identification system.
Officials say the exercise forms part of the broader drive to ensure that every Ghanaian citizen is enrolled on the national identity database from childhood.
The registration exercise targets children who have not yet been enrolled in the national identification system. By expanding registration to younger citizens, authorities hope to build a more comprehensive national database that can support identity verification and access to public services.
The National Identification Authority has been gradually expanding the Ghana Card programme to include younger age groups, including children between the ages of six and fourteen. This effort aligns with government policy to ensure that every Ghanaian has a secure and verifiable national identity.
Available Positions
As part of preparations for the mass registration exercise, the Authority is inviting qualified and interested individuals to apply for several temporary roles. Applicants may apply for the following positions:
• Technical Support Officer (Technician)
• Commissioner for Oaths (CFO)
• Card Verification Officer (CVO)
• Mobile Registration Workstation Operator (MRWO)
• Registration Officer (RO)
According to the Authority, all the available roles are temporary contract positions intended specifically to support the nationwide child registration exercise. Successful applicants will assist with various technical, administrative and verification processes required during the data capture exercise.
Application Process
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the official NIA recruitment portal. The Authority has advised applicants to carefully review the job requirements and follow the application instructions provided on the portal.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official recruitment platform before the closing date. The deadline for submitting applications is March 22, 2026. Applicants are also required to upload a clear photograph during the application process for verification purposes.
The National Identification Authority has emphasised that it does not charge any fee for recruitment into the organisation. Members of the public have therefore been cautioned to beware of fraudsters or unauthorised agents who may attempt to demand money in exchange for employment opportunities.
Officials stressed that all legitimate applications must be submitted through the official recruitment portal only. The Authority encouraged applicants to follow official channels and avoid dealing with individuals claiming to facilitate recruitment outside the authorised system.
National Identification Expansion
The recruitment exercise forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s identification infrastructure. The Ghana Card has become the country’s primary form of national identification and is widely used for accessing government services, financial systems and other official transactions.
Authorities say expanding registration to include children will help build a more inclusive identity database that supports national planning and service delivery.
The National Identification Authority has therefore encouraged qualified individuals across the country to apply and support the nationwide registration exercise aimed at capturing eligible children on the national identity register.
