Ghanaian singer, Antoinette Tiffany Owusu popularly known as Itz Tiffany has made a confident return to the music scene with two new singles, “Wura” and “Money,” following a deliberate multi-year hiatus during which she built a thriving business empire and rediscovered her artistic identity.
In a revealing interview, the artist opened up about stepping back from the spotlight to prioritize personal growth, financial stability, and long-term sustainability in an industry known for its challenges, especially for female acts.
Tiffany, celebrated for her earlier collaborations such as the Azonto tour with Fuse, described a period of introspection triggered by feeling overwhelmed. “I felt like there was too much going on at a point, right? And then I felt like, where do I go from here?” she explained.
As a young artist who loves money and success, she chose to pause rather than risk burnout or mediocrity.

During her absence from active promotion, Tiffany remained deeply connected to music in private. She installed a home studio where she recorded extensively across different moods and emotions. “
I have a studio in my house. When I’m sad, when I’m happy, I record a lot. I have so many songs,” she shared, estimating her unreleased catalog at nearly 30 to 40 tracks.
Her dedicated fans, whom she calls her “real fans,” stayed supportive throughout. “My real fans, they never left me. They followed me through the journey… They knew everything that I was doing,” she noted, while acknowledging that less active social media presence may have distanced casual followers.
The decision to step back was also driven by industry realities. Tiffany highlighted the difficulties female artists face in a male-dominated space and her desire to avoid rushing unprepared releases. “Two years ago, I was almost about to jump back… but I felt like I still was not ready.”

Instead, she channeled her energy into entrepreneurship, launching ventures that now stand independently of her celebrity status.
Her businesses include the IT Rainbow Bar with locations in Spintex and the popular three-story La Boma Beach outpost, as well as a beauty supply store offering skincare, haircare, makeup, bath and body products, perfumes, and men’s grooming items. The beauty supply idea stemmed from her sister’s work as a makeup artist.
“She had a store… I thought, I’ll get a store right next to you and sell all the stuff that they have to go buy so it’s just easy access,” Tiffany recalled. The bar fulfilled her love for music and controlled socializing.
“I don’t have so many friends. I’d like to keep to myself, but I like music and I like partying. How do I do that in a controlled environment? I created my bar”

Remarkably, she built these enterprises organically at first. “When I started my business, I didn’t want people to know that it was me. I wanted organic customers.” She worked shifts in uniform, served customers, and earned tips, proving her commitment to the grind. Family plays a central role in operations: her mother, described as “my pillar,” manages the beauty supply and the bar’s kitchen, while her sister currently serves as her manager.
Tiffany emphasized maintaining professional boundaries. “We don’t always see eye to eye… but we have that grounding that makes like, we don’t mix the emotions and the family in the business.”
She believes family offers the purest support: “The best people that would want you to win is your family, because when I’m winning, I’m winning at home.”
Her new singles mark a purposeful comeback. “Wura,” released first as an introduction, carries cultural depth and asserts independence. Drawing from Akan terminology where “Wura” signifies respect for a husband or boss, Tiffany flips the script: “I ain’t got no boss. I am the boss.” When pressed about a real-life “Wura,” she responded playfully, “You will never know.”
The follow-up track “Money” channels her entrepreneurial spirit and resonates powerfully with female listeners. “The ladies love me more now because I’ve told them what they couldn’t say,” she said with a laugh, referencing lyrics about financial independence and self-worth.
Producers involved in the new material include Ghazi, J-Soul, Waze, and others. Tiffany remains true to her authentic style rather than chasing trends. “I’m not a follower… When I enter, how I feel is what I will spit.”
She plans to release more from her deep catalog, showcasing different sides-rapper, sharp-tongued, lover girl, and dancer.
Visually and personally expressive, Tiffany’s tattoos tell stories of resilience. A prominent neck piece reads “You need you” followed by “strength.” She elaborated: “You need yourself… no matter what you go through, no matter what they stress you… you can’t lose yourself.” Other tattoos symbolize love, loyalty, trust, and personal milestones, including loss.
