Entertainment pundit and artist manager, Mr. Logic has averred that Lynx Entertainment and Kuami Eugene must sue Oduma Essan for defamation.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Logic noted that he has listened to both songs and upon critical analysis, there are no similarities between the songs. According to him the chord progressions, style, and even lyrics are totally different. Therefore, Oduma Essan has to be sued for defamation and denting the image of the record label and the artist.
“Lynx Entertainment has to sue Oduma Essan for defamation. He is just destroying the image of Lynx and Kuami Eugene. The similarities, rhythmic composition, and even melodies are not the same. The lyrics are not the same, it is just the title that is the same. So how is this the same song?”
Mr. Logic advises court to trash the case
It can be recalled that Oduma Essan has dragged Kuami Eugene to the Accra High Court, seeking GHC120,000;as damages for the cost of the song’s and music video’s creation.
Speaking on this, Mr. Logic stated that Oduma shouldn’t waste his time in court chasing a case he knows he will definitely lose. He also posited that any lawyer who will follow this case is a “blind lawyer” and “as a;matter of fact the judge who will handle the case should throw the case away”.
The entertainment critic, Mr. Logic mentioned that he has no doubt that Oduma Essan is doing this just for popularity. According to him, maybe Oduma has a new song he wants to release;and therefore wants to leverage on controversy to make his song popular. Mr. Logic however advised him to be careful of the path he is treading.
“I think he just wants to gain popularity so that when he releases;a new song, we will go and listen. But if this is the way he wants to gain it then he should be very;careful else, he will rather find himself in trouble”.
Andy Dosty shares unfortunate encounter with Oduma Essan
That notwithstanding, Ghanaian musician and media personality, Andy;Dosty, wading into the conversation noted that he has had a personal encounter with Oduma.
According to Andy Dosty, he was introduced to Oduma Essan to promote his music some years ago. Andy disclosed that he was given some money which he had initially refused since he always;“avoid having issues with people and their money”. However, Andy revealed that upon several considerations, he took the money later on and promoted the song. Also,
Andy Dosty further speaking noted that after promoting the song, Oduma made;certain claims about him which made him very unhappy. Based on that unfortunate situation, Andy;mentioned that he is not surprised that Oduma will go to this extent to gain popularity.
“This guy with Kuami Eugene’s case went all over saying that he gave;me money and also gave me money for my family too. I was very shocked by what he said. I didn’t expect that from him at all because I helped him with his promotion.
Andy further revealed that Oduma Essan sent him the information that he is suing Kuami Eugene. However, Andy stated that he was very uninterested in the issue. Also, Andy mentioned that he is not surprised that “Oduma is doing this for popularity”.
