Ghanaian reggae and dancehall icon Samini has officially launched promotional efforts for the Dansoman Edition of his popular Samini Xperience concert, set to return to the streets of Dansoman this December.
The artist shared a striking promotional poster on Thursday, October 15, 2026, signaling the start of activities leading up to the event, with a media launch scheduled for Friday, October 16, at the Kigali Hotel.
The poster features Samini in a commanding pose, sporting white-framed sunglasses, long dreadlocks, a full beard, and holding a traditional-style necklace against a rich brown and orange backdrop adorned with cultural symbols.
The text boldly reads “Samini Xperience -Dansoman Edition -Media Launch – Kigali Hotel -Oct 16.” Accompanying the image, Samini simply wrote: “#dc let’s go .. #saminixperience #saminixperienceconcert #dansoman #akyesaaaaaaaaaa,” using the affectionate local expression “akyesaaaa” that has become a signature of his fan interactions.
This marks a homecoming of sorts for the artist, whose full name is Emmanuel Andrews Sammini. Born on December 22, 1982, in Accra and hailing from Wa in the Upper West Region, Samini spent formative years in Dansoman. His family resided there when he was nine years old, and he attended St. Margaret Mary Secondary School in the area.
The decision to bring the Samini Xperience back to the streets of Dansoman carries personal significance, reconnecting the star with the community that helped shape his early life.
The Samini Xperience
The Samini Xperience has grown into one of Ghana’s notable annual live music events, particularly associated with the festive “Detty December” period. Previous editions, including the successful 2025 show at Laboma Beach Resort on Christmas Eve, have drawn large crowds and featured impressive lineups of both established and emerging artists.
The 2025 concert included performances from names such as M.anifest, Shatta Wale, Kofi Kinaata, Praye, Kwaw Kese, and others, blending reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeats in an outdoor beach setting.
By shifting focus to Dansoman for this edition, Samini appears intent on delivering a more community-rooted experience. Earlier in October, he had publicly confirmed that the concert would return to the streets of Dansoman in December, generating excitement among fans who associate the area with his personal history.
The media launch at Kigali Hotel is expected to provide further details on the exact date, venue specifics within Dansoman, ticket information, and potential supporting acts.

Samini rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with his debut album Dankwasere in 2004, which featured the massive hit “Linda.” The song helped establish him as a leading voice in what he terms “African dancehall” -a fusion of highlife, reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop. Over the years he has released multiple successful albums, including Samini, Dagaati, and more recent projects such as ORIGIN8A.
His achievements include winning Best African Act at the 2006 MOBO Awards, African Artiste of the Year at The Headies, and numerous Ghana Music Awards.
Beyond his Music
Beyond his music, Samini was enskinned as a chief in his hometown of Wa in 2018, receiving the title Pebilii Naa, meaning “King of the Rocks.” He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and runs his own High Grade Family label.
The announcement comes at a busy time for Ghanaian live music, with several major events already scheduled for the December festive season. Samini has previously spoken about the growth of the industry and the ability of different concerts to coexist, emphasizing that artists should focus on serving their core audiences rather than competing over dates.
Fans have responded positively to the Dansoman-focused promotion. The post quickly gained hundreds of likes and dozens of reposts within hours of going up, with supporters expressing anticipation for a street-level celebration in an area closely tied to the artist’s journey. The use of local hashtags and the familiar “akyesaaaa” call has helped generate organic engagement within the Dansoman community and among Samini’s broader High Grade Family fanbase.

As the media launch approaches on October 16, more concrete details about the December concert are expected to emerge. For now, the promotional campaign has successfully rekindled interest in what promises to be a significant addition to Accra’s end-of-year entertainment calendar one that brings a major Ghanaian star back to the neighborhood where parts of his story began.
The Samini Xperience Dansoman Edition is poised to blend the high-energy live performances fans have come to expect with a deeper sense of place and community connection, offering both longtime supporters and new listeners a chance to experience one of Ghana’s most enduring reggae and dancehall voices in a uniquely personal setting.
