British grime artist Big Narstie is set to release his new single “History” at midnight, featuring fellow UK rapper Scorcher and Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy.

The track was first given a world exclusive play on BBC Radio 1Xtra earlier this month during an appearance by Big Narstie and Scorcher on Snoochie Shy’s show. Fans and supporters, particularly those aligned with Stonebwoy’s BHIM Nation, began circulating clips of the full version on Thursday, highlighting the Ghanaian artist’s verse ahead of the official drop.

About Big Narstie

Big Narstie, whose real name is Tyrone Mark Lindo, is a Brixton-born MC, comedian and television presenter known for his energetic style and crossover appeal. He began his career in the early 2000s as part of the N Double A crew before establishing a solo presence in the UK grime scene. He has released multiple mixtapes and EPs, won Urban Music Awards for Best Grime Act, and later expanded into television with The Big Narstie Show on Channel 4.

His catalogue includes collaborations across grime, hip-hop and mainstream pop, most notably the 2015 hit “When the Bassline Drops” with Craig David.

Scorcher, a North London rapper and former member of the collective The Movement alongside artists such as Wretch 32 and Ghetts, has a long history of working with Big Narstie. The two have appeared together on earlier projects and maintain a presence in the UK underground and commercial scenes.

Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, brings an established African dancehall and reggae influence to the record. The Ghanaian artist has built a substantial international following through hits, awards and consistent touring. He is widely credited with helping popularise Afro-dancehall and has headlined major events, including recent international dates under his BHIM Festival banner.

His inclusion on “History” continues a pattern of cross-continental collaborations that link UK grime and African dancehall audiences.

The midnight release timing aligns with standard industry practice for maximising first-day streams and social media activity across time zones. Promotional clips shared by fans on Thursday focused on Stonebwoy’s contribution, describing the verse as a standout moment on the track.

The song is expected to appear on major streaming platforms under Big Narstie’s association with Dice Recordings, the independent label that has supported parts of his earlier catalogue.

Cross-genre and cross-border features of this kind have become more common as UK and African artists seek wider listenership. Grime’s rhythmic intensity and dancehall’s melodic and riddim-driven structures often complement each other, creating records that appeal to both core fans and broader urban audiences.

Stonebwoy’s Participation

Stonebwoy’s participation is likely to draw particular attention in Ghana and among the diaspora, where his releases routinely generate significant local engagement.

Big Narstie has balanced music with comedy, presenting and online content for more than a decade. His public persona combines sharp lyricism with humour, a combination that has sustained interest beyond pure music circles. Scorcher’s verse is expected to deliver the technical, street-oriented delivery associated with his earlier work, while Stonebwoy’s contribution is anticipated to introduce melodic and dancehall-inflected elements.

As of Thursday morning, the full track had not yet been made available for streaming, though short previews and fan-shared excerpts were circulating. The official rollout is scheduled for midnight, after which the song is expected to appear on platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.

The collaboration arrives at a time when both the UK grime scene and Ghanaian dancehall continue to explore international partnerships. For Big Narstie it represents another entry in a long discography that moves between underground credibility and mainstream visibility.

For Stonebwoy it adds to a growing list of features that extend his reach into UK urban music circles.

Listeners will be able to judge the finished record once it goes live. Early reaction from those who have heard the Radio 1Xtra exclusive and subsequent clips has centred on the chemistry between the three artists and the strength of Stonebwoy’s verse.

The midnight release will determine whether that early interest translates into wider streaming numbers and continued discussion across both the UK and Ghanaian music communities.
