Second Lady, Samira Bawumia

The Second Lady Samira Bawumia has called on the people of Upper Manya to vote for the incumbent government as they have kept their promise in delivering developmental projects to them.

Addressing the Chiefs and People of Upper Manya Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region as part of her five-day campaign tour of the region, she noted the fulfilment of these promises should reflect in votes garnered for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.

Politics, in her words, “is for development”, as such, a government which has introduced major policy interventions such as the Free Senior High School Policy, One Million Dollars per Constituency, Planting for Food and Jobs and many others, are worthy of  a second term to continue the country.

“Upper Manya has seen unprecedented development under the NPP. Now you have seen the difference. You have been voting for NDC for a very long time but when you voted for NPP you have seen the development that has come to Upper Manya Krobo. This is the reason why we do politics. Politics is for development and we have kept the promise with the people and that is why this year we are saying we want four more for Nana to do more for you because the development is for you.

“In the last three and half years look at what has happened to this country. Over 1.7 million children across this country are enjoying free education, it is unprecedented in the history of this country. His Excellency President Akufo-Addo is saying irrespective of your background either rich or poor, your place of birth, he wants every Ghanaian child to go to school. That is the leadership that we want. Look at the policies he has brought – One Million one Constituency.

“We were in this country when launching was held that Dubai has come to Ghana. We spent hundreds of millions of dollars on Circle interchange, did you see any development here in Asesewa”.

Samira Bawumia

The Second Lady, iterating projects undertaken under the Akufo-Addo led administration further buttressed on government’s introduction of the “One Million Dollars per Constituency policy”.

“NPP has introduced One Million One Constituency policy to facilitate development. So there is development in every Constituency because it is growing together in our country. So there is development going on all over this country the needs of the people are being met in this country. Before NPP came into office we had only 55 ambulances in the country. Shameful as a Government. As a country, we had only 55 ambulances but today every constituency has an ambulance”.

Canvassing for votes for the party, Samira Bawumia also petitioned the electorate in Upper Manya Krobo to vote massively for the incumbent Member of Parliament, Joseph Tetteh to retain his seat for the area.

“I came here to request for your vote for our candidate Joe Tee and indeed you voted for him and he’s been a servant leadership. He has demonstrated that leadership is for service. He has worked hard. Vote for him again come December 7 “.
