The ongoing feud between Nigerian music stars Davido and Tiwa Savage has taken a new twist as alleged private chats have surfaced online.
The revelation comes shortly after Tiwa Savage filed a petition with the police, citing threats from Davido.
The rift between the two artists became apparent when they unfollowed each other on social media, sparking widespread speculation.
Davido and Savage were known to have had a cordial relationship over the years, with their children, Imade Adeleke and Jamil Balogun, following in their parents’ footsteps. Both children attended the same school and had been seen on several occasions enjoying each other’s company.
Tiwa Savage, not taking the matter lightly, escalated the situation by submitting a formal complaint to the police against Davido, accusing him of making threats against her.
She asked the police boss to hold Davido responsible if anything untoward happened to her, adding that Davido had asked their mutual connections to warn her.
Tiwa Savage explained that the misunderstanding may not be unconnected to her relationship with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s baby mama with whom he (Davido) was having issues.
“I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation involving myself, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, and Mr David Adeleke popularly known as Davido,” the petition read.
“On the 23rd of December, I made a post which included myself and Sophía Momodu on my Instagram Story- a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and Mr David Adeleke sent messages to my manager who’s also part of his management team that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person,” she further added.
According to sources close to the matter, the police petition detailed that a mutual connection between Davido and Tiwa Savage had relayed a message from the former.
The message allegedly conveyed Davido’s displeasure and a threat to “deal” with Tiwa Savage upon his arrival in Lagos.
Surprisingly, Instagram blogger Cutie Julls has released what is claimed to be excerpts from the private conversations between the two artists.
As the conversation unfolded, it spiraled into a more intense exchange, with Davido warning Tiwa Savage not to mention his son’s name again.
Tiwa Savage, in response, is said to have labeled Davido as “evil” and dared him to carry out whatever he had in mind.
The authenticity of these alleged conversations is yet to be officially confirmed.

Controversial Twitter personality, Daniel Regha has weighed in on the ongoing online feud between Afrobeat singers, Davido and Tiwa Savage.
The ongoing drama between the singers started when Teebillz called out Davido for disrespecting his family and bullying his baby mama, Tiwa Savage.
Teebillz also vowed to teach the Grammy nominee a lesson as his family will be the last he will ever disrespect.
Daniel Regha responded that Davido’s involvement in drama had become routine.
According to Daniel, even though Teebillz hasn’t revealed what transpired, his remarks validate what previous Davido’s detractors have asserted.
He expressed his disappointment since the singer’s friendship goes beyond the music industry.
“Davido keeps getting involved in drama, it’s become a pattern. Tee Billz has yet to disclose what happened, but his statements reaffirm what people who had issues with Davido have said in the past. It’s disappointing since Davido & Tiwa’s friendship goes beyond the music industry,” as expressed in Daniel Regha’s voice.
