Gino, a good brand in Ghana and Afua Asantewaa

Gino, a good brand in Ghana has announced a free food giveaway at the Akwaaba Village tonight to all patrons who will come out in their numbers to support Afua Asantewaa as she wraps up her Singathon challenge.

Afua Asantewaa has unofficially broken the 2012 record done by Sunil Waghmare of India but the strong lady is vying to take it even further by hitting the 120-hour mark.

This news as usual has sent joy to many social media users who have added tonight’s Singathon to their numerous schedules to taste the free Gino Jollof.

Afua as judged by many Ghanaians has done what many people didn’t dream of ever seeing. Thanks to her, the country has come together for a common course devoid of political backgrounds, religion, and tribal affiliations.

The broadcast journalist and mother of three has been performing hundreds of Ghanaian songs back-to-back since midnight on Sunday, December 24, 2024.

She has so far exceeded 109 hours and still hoping to go further.

The euphoria is still high at the Akwaaba Village in Accra. Fans and dignitaries from all backgrounds continue to commend her resilience and exceptionality.

Bhim Nation President, Stonebwoy, was the latest musician to pass by the Akwaaba Village to inspire her.

Other female artists, including Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Shay, also passed by to give words of encouragement.

Asked about Aduonum’s progress in the past days, “I wish I could be on the stage to help her sing,” she said.

For actor and musician, Clemento Suarez, whatever the outcome of Aduonum’s record-breaking attempt, she had done her best and would remain a winner.

“Even if she wants to sing for 200 hours, we will be here to support her,” he further added jokingly.

Husband Of Afua Asantewaa Speaks

The husband to the Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, shared insights into the sacrifices their family has made during this Christmas season.

According to him, they have denied their children the love and attention this Christmas season, to support their mother and wife in the course of the competition.

He noted that the family consciously chose to focus on the record-breaking attempt, acknowledging that their children may have missed out on the usual love and attention during the festive period for which he is grateful.

“A lot, we denied them love, and care during this festive season. We want to say, we love them for understanding us and praying with us all this while,” he said.

He emphasized the challenge of balancing the demands of the record attempt, “I have not slept in the last 5 and 6 days. I’ve been here for days before the attempt started,” he further stated.

Despite the sacrifices, Aduonum spoke highly of his wife’s determination in the ongoing sing-a-thon which has reached 105 hours so far.

“I know she has a tough personality and a tough character, so I didn’t doubt her a bit,” he disclosed.

Acknowledging the overwhelming support from Ghanaians, he expressed his gratitude.

“The support started from the get-go and I want to say a big thank you to Ghanaians, they have done marvelously well,” Kofi Owusu Aduonum said.

As the sing-a-thon progresses, Aduonum remains optimistic for a win at the end.

“I want to tell her that she’s fought a good fight and like the biblical saying goes, the horse is prepared for the battle but victory lies in the hands of the Lord. She has done her bit and we are trusting God to do the rest,” he further added.
