Broken Heart Inspired Latest Track
Gyakie opened up about the emotional turmoil that inspired her to write her latest song, “December.”
The ‘Rent Free’ hitmaker disclosed that following a disappointment and broken heart from a ‘special someone’, she decided to put her thoughts together to compose ‘December’ to deal with her emotions.
“It is fully broken heart. It’s actually one of the songs I wrote when I was actually in one of my sad moments and I wrote it in Paris. Every word in the song is literally direct. A special someone disappointed me. The story is in the lyrics of the song. When you read the lyrics, you will understand what I mean more.”

The singer also revealed the severity of her emotional struggle, mentioning that she even grappled with suicidal thoughts.
“I felt I needed to start again in terms of my sound. I felt disconnected from reality as well. So, from the start of the year, I used that time to discover myself,” she shared.
According to her, ‘December’ which is the singer’s first release of the year was supposed to have been released last year during the festive season.
However, she had dropped her hit song ‘Rent Free’ at the time, hence her decision to allow the song to be enjoyed by Ghanaians to its maximum before dropping another banger.
Gyakie also revealed that she is very careful and tries as much as she can to stay away from trouble.
According to her, she is cautious about the brand she has built for years and wouldn’t want to lose it.
“I think my trouble is topping the charts and dropping the bangers. That’s a good trouble. I’m very particular about that. In as much as I’m living my life, I’m very careful with the kind of brand that has been built which in a second you could lose it all. There are certain things that I would want to do in public but I’m unable to because of the brand I have built.”
