Mercy Chinwo, who is known for her powerful gospel music, opened up about the hardships she faced while working with her former manager.
“I never believed the day would come where I would sit here to share my story. For the sake of the body of Christ, I thought to bring some clarity to a lot of misleading news out there online about the message of Christ.”

The singer expressed deep frustration about how she was portrayed by Eezee Conceptz, recounting a series of distressing events that she alleges took place during their partnership.
According to Mercy, Eezee Conceptz not only publicly accused her of betrayal but also made several threats against her.
In an attempt to escape the toxic environment created by Eezee Conceptz, Mercy revealed that she was forced to relocate from Lagos to Port Harcourt for her safety.
“He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are and I will destroy you,’” visibly emotional, she recalled, admitting that the threats had left her fearful for her life.
“I became scared of my life. It got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me. I’ve endured bullying. I’ve endured threats.”

The video also addressed accusations that were made by Eezee Conceptz in a public post. Eezee had claimed that Mercy had manipulated institutions and law enforcement to bully him, despite receiving $625,000 from his record label.
He also accused her of attempting to take over a catalog she had not contributed to financially, painting her actions as inconsistent with the values she sings about in her gospel music.
Mercy Chinwo strongly denied these accusations, sharing her perspective and calling out the unfair treatment she endured.
“Whatever he’s doing on social media now is nothing compared to what I went through. This is not to paint him bad,” she clarified and added that Eezee’s actions, including a legal battle over their contract, were far from what she had expected from someone she once trusted like a father.

The story of their strained relationship dates back to 2017 when they signed a management contract.
According to Mercy, things started to go downhill when Eezee tried to pressure her into signing a 12-year contract, which she refused.
“Since then, you started acting funny, always stalling because I did not extend the contract immediately. You seized my music royalties for two years. You’re a bully, you’re an oppressor.”

A key point of contention between the two was Mercy’s collaboration with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, an artist Eezee allegedly harbors a strong dislike for.
The ‘Confidence’ hitmaker claimed that Eezee went as far as paying bloggers to spread negative rumors about her when she worked with the gospel musician.
“One of my major crimes was when I did a song with pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, you went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son.
“And you said my son was not my son. And you paid bloggers because you hate Pastor Jerry Eze. You didn’t want me to go to his event. The people you fight, I must fight them with you?”

In her tearful address, the mother of one also emphasized that her decision to speak out was not an attack but a necessary clarification to the public.
She stressed that despite all that had transpired, she trusted in God to protect her and vindicate her.
“You said you made me who I am and that you would destroy me when you were the same person how many lawyers have you changed now because you said you’re going to deal with me… you have bloggers, I have God. The worst you can do is what you are doing. But I know that God will not let your plan come to pass. His thoughts for me are of good and not of evil.”

The crooner’s video comes after Eezee Conceptz shared his own statement, accusing Mercy of being ungrateful despite the investments he made in her career.

In his statement, he revealed that he had invested substantial sums of money in her career, including $625,000, and claimed that Mercy had breached their contract by not delivering the required third album. “You are now attempting to claim ownership of a catalog I fully funded. A body of work you never contributed financially to,” he stated.
Despite the bitter legal and personal disputes between them, Mercy’s message served as a testament to her resilience and unwavering faith.
She clarified that her actions were guided by integrity and a desire for peace. “I saved you diligently. I took you as a father. I never wanted to fight,” she added. “I know the truth will come out. God will defend me.”
The fallout between Mercy Chinwo and Eezee Conceptz is one of the most publicized rifts in the Nigerian gospel music industry.
It highlights the complex nature of business relationships in the music industry and how personal grievances can spill into the public sphere. While both parties have their version of events.
Mercy’s emotional video has garnered widespread support from fans, many of whom are standing by her side in this difficult chapter.
