The Founder and Leader for Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo John Kyerematen has pledged his commitment to expand the government flagship one district one factory initiative when elected as President of the country in the December 7 polls.
The former Minister of Trade and Industry under the New Patriotic Party administration reacting to President Akufo-Addo’s announcement during his message of the State of the Nation Address that the one district one factory initiative has led to the creation of over 170,000 jobs, touted his significant role in the implementation of the initiative while serving as the Minister of Trade and Industry.
According to Mr Kyerematen, if elected to lead the country as the President he would ensure that each district in the country would benefit from his industrial growth agenda through the expansion of the one district one factory initiative.
“As a former Trade and Industry Minister who drafted the 1D1F policy from scratch, I am proud of the impact the initiative has had on Ghana’s economy regardless of the challenges the policy had to go through in respect of its implementation.
“The President’s recent address in Parliament highlighted the creation of 170,000 jobs through this program, showcasing its effectiveness in driving the local economies of the districts where the factories are located”.

The leader of the Movement for Change further stated that his vision for Ghana is deep rooted in the concept of inclusive prosperity in which he envisions a country where every district will thrive with industrial activity that would create a ripple effect of economic development.

Furthermore, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen indicated that through the expansion of the one district one factory initiative, his administration would ignite the entrepreneurial spirit of Ghanaians and foster innovation across the nation, to empower local communities.
Mr Kyerematen further underscored the importance of bold leadership and strategic investment in the successful expansion of the one district one factory initiative and stated that his administration would provide meaningful allocations of resources to the one district one factory initiative for its successful implementation.
According to Mr Kyerematen, the successful implementation of the one district one factory initiative would not only spur immediate economic growth but also lay the foundation for sustained prosperity that would provide opportunities for all citizens in the country.
Moreover, Alan Kyerematen, the leader for Movement for Change and Independent Presidential Candidate for the 2024 general elections emphasized his commitment to champion his vision based on inclusivity which would be guided by integrity, vision, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of every Ghanaian.
He strongly asserted that his vision for the country is fueled by a passionate commitment to leveraging the success of the one district one factory initiative to propel the nation into an era of sustained growth, innovation, and prosperity for generations to come.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Honorable KT Hammond has bemoaned over the delay by Parliament to approve tax waivers for some factories that are under the one district one factory initiative.
The Honorable KT Hammond lamenting over the issue, accused some New Patriotic Party members on the Parliament Committee of Finance for conspiring with the Minority Caucus in Parliament to delay the approval of the tax waivers for some factories under the one district one factory initiative.
The Minister of Trade and Industry thus urged both the Majority and Minority caucuses in Parliament to team up to approve the tax waivers he has submitted before the house to ensure that the various factories in question are able to start operation as soon as possible.
