At the 10th Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executive Awards 2020 held virtually, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, received plaudits as he was conferred as the Outstanding Board Chairman of the year 2019.

The theme for the event was “Celebrating Ten Years of Entrepreneurial Excellence and Business Development in Ghana, is aimed at recognising and celebrating Corporate Business Executives and Entrepreneurs who have managed successful public and private organizations in Ghana”.

Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor was reverently accorded the win as a result of his demonstrable show of corporate leadership, sustained business performance, integrity, vision and business innovation in the National Pension Scheme in Ghana.

As proof of the fact that diligence is rewarded, he dedicated the big win to the Board of Trustees, Management and Staff of the Trust saying that the award is a testament of their hard work, team spirit and willingness to change the narrative of the Trust.

“To stakeholders of the Scheme, especially pensioners, thank you. I believe that you are the reason the Trust exists and your input over the years have contributed to the sustenance of the Scheme”.

Going down memory lane of achievements, Dr. Kufuor said that after assuming office, his outfit had to engage in an overhaul in operations and re-prioritization of the Trust in a bid to give it an aura of a reliable and high performing institution.

Also, as part of his achievements, he cited the deletion of over 12, 000 non-existent pensioners from the pension payroll saving the Trust about GHC106 Million.

“The Trust had saved millions of dollars as a result of the comprehensive value-for-money audit carried out on SSNIT investments to guide investment decisions by Management”.
