Otumfuo Amoah Sasraku III, Paramount Chief of Twifo Hemang Traditional Area in the Central Region, has described President Akufo-Addo as the “Moses of our time” for his leadership in the country.

He lauded the President’s decision to embark on a tour of the country, and offer “solutions” to their concern irrespective of the “remote nature of our communities” coupled with its “nearly impassable roads”.

Otumfuor Amoah Sasraku made these revelations when President Akufo Addo paid a courtesy call on him as part of his two -day working visit to the Region.

“We will remain ever grateful to you, our President; and to God for the rare gift of visionary leadership in governance and in administration that he has given you to serve this nation. It is without doubt that God has indeed ordained you to lead Ghana onto a path of self-reliance and economic freedom. Clearly, you are the Moses of our time”.

According to Otumfuor Amoah Sasraku III, even in the “absence of the luxury” of time to highlight on the life-changing interventions the President has made, he cannot be silent about the huge “school projects that are dotted” all around the communities.

He indicated that most of the projects are completed, whilst others are at various stages of completion. Following this, the Chief explained that this “exemplifies” the President’s fame as “an avowed proponent” of universal education for young ones.

“A lot has already been said about the Free SHS policy and Free School Feeding Programme. It is now a thing of the past to hear people ask for handouts to pay the school fees of their wards. This is a personal testimony and we are, the kids and their parents, therefore grateful”.

In conclusion, Otumfuo Amoah Sasraku III mentioned the construction of the Community Small Water Systems across the traditional area, as another achievement of the President thst is intended to cater to the water and sanitation needs of the people.

President Akufo-Addo inspect Central Oil Mills

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo, inspected work at the Central Oil Mills Limited, a wholly Ghanaian owned agro-processing company located in the Central Region. The Mill specialises in oil palm development and palm oil processing, that is operating under government’s 1-District-1-Factory initiative.

As part of Government’s Industrial Transformation Agenda, Central Oil Mills, established in 2010, was identified as one of the potentially viable but distressed companies.

Prior to this, Ghana Exim Bank, in 2018 had approved a Medium-Term Loan Facility of GH¢12 million for Central Oil Mills Limited to undertake three main activities. The Bank subsequently approved a supplementary loan of GH¢2 million for the project. Thus, bringing the total loan approved for the project to GHS14 Million.

The activities for the project included the rehabilitation and expansion of an existing primary crude palm oil processing factory at Jukwa-Mfoum. Also, it focused on the establishment of a brand-new secondary oil palm processing factory at Jukwa-Asamanso.

Currently, the new factory at Asamanso and the expansion work at Mfuom are about 95% and 90% completed respectively and expected to be fully completed by end of November 2021.

With a yield of 20%, the factory will produce 2,400 metric tonnes of palm oil per annum which could be processed into secondary canned and bottled products. In addition, through the revitalisation process, the company has increased its storage capacity from 30 metric tonnes to 150 metric tonnes.
