An elderly man has been charged with having “unnatural sex” with a goat and faces whipping sentence. Shaari Hasan, a 60-year-old widower from the Malaysian town of Rawang, was charged on July 27, 2021 for allegedly committing the “sick act”.
Shaari Hasan faces up to 20 years in prison, as well as a hefty fine or brutal whipping, under Section 377 of Malaysia’s Penal Code.
According to local media reports, he was caught in the act when the goat’s owner, a 45-year-old woman, heard strange noises coming from the back of her house. She then rushed towards the female goat, where she discovered a half-naked man standing next to it, according to police.
Per police reports, Hasan fled after seeing the woman. The owner was heartbroken when she discovered her goat had died as a result of the incident.
During court proceedings, Hasan pleaded not guilty after initially pleading guilty when the charge was read out.
According to reports, Judge Nurul Mаrdhiаh Mohammed Redzа presented а t-shirt and trousers to the court, which was allegedly taken from Hasan during the arrest. When Judge Nurul Mаrdhiаh Mohammed Redzа asked Hasan: “Does the shirt and trousers belong to you?”, the situation changed. Hasan replied, “No”, denying being the owner of the outfit.
The judge then explained that Hasan’s initial guilty plea could not be accepted unless he admitted to owning the clothes. As а result, the charge was read а second time, and the elderly man pleaded not guilty again.
Hasan’s lawyers requested bail, which deputy public prosecutor Siti Khadijah Amir Hаmdzаh vehemently opposed. The court sided with the prosecutor and refused to grant bail to the accused. Hasan will be back in court on December 24, 2021 for а hearing.
It seems this unusual incident is becoming rampant in various countries. Recently, а Florida man admitted to breaking into а barn and having sex with miniature horses multiple times. Santiago Victoria, who is 57 years old, was apprehended after the owner discovered bungee cords and ropes wrapped around the animal’s neck.
According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Santiago Victoria was arrested on September 21, 2021, by National Park Service Rangers. He is facing charges including cruelty to animals and sexual assault on an animal. His bail has been set at 150,000 dollars.
The National Park Service Rangers speaking on the issue told local media that someone had broken into the woman’s barn, vandalized it, and released about 10 horses. Santiago Victoria was identified as the suspect and booked into jail.
A spokesperson for the woman declined to elaborate on the alleged sex crime, however, he noted that none of the horses required medical attention.
Four miniature horses were identified as victims of animal cruelty and unnatural sexual conduct.
Meanwhile, New Orleans police had been searching for Santiago Victoria since last year December after he was identified as the suspect who committed “unnatural sex acts” with at least two horses.
