Hon Ablakwa And Mr Kusi Boateng

The founder and head pastor of Power Chapel Worldwide International, Rev. Kusi Boateng otherwise known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, has secured a restraining order against Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Per this, Hon Ablakwa is prohibited from making public, any “disclosures of private documents, correspondence, communication and property belonging to the applicant” for the next ten days.

The lawmaker has in the last few weeks mounted a spirited campaign against Rev. Kusi Boateng whom he accused of having double identity.

Rev. Kusi Boateng who is also the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, has been accused of conflict of interest following some monies he received from the National Cathedral Board of Trustees under a different name.

Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa already petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) over the issue. The North Tongu legislator also insisted that Rev. Kusi Boateng has two TINs produced on different occasions and in some instances, two different dates of birth.

Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng in an earlier statement described the allegations as a “twisted narration of events”.

The allegations also relate to the alleged transfer of state funds meant for the construction of the National Cathedral into a supposed bank account of a company said to be owned by Rev Kusi Boateng.

But according to Rev Kusi Boateng, although the claims are misleading, it has enjoyed wide readership, garnering 581 reactions, 135 comments and 126 shares as of January 25, 2023.

This, he emphasised, is “calculated to injure the reputation of the plaintiff in the minds of his family members, his congregation, fellow ministers of the gospel (locally and internationally), well-meaning members of the society, home and abroad.”

In a writ filed at the Human Rights Division of the High Court in Accra, Rev Kusi Boateng prayed the court for, “an order of interim injunction to restrain the 1ST Respondent/ Respondent from making further public disclosures of the private information, documents, correspondence, communication and property belonging to the Applicant; and for such further order or orders as this Court deems fit,on the grounds contained in the supporting affidavit.”

Also cited in the writ is the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice as 2nd Respondent.

NIA Must Come Out Clean On Rev. Kusi Boateng’s Issue

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu is still insisting that the National Identification Authority (NIA) fraudulently issued a Ghana Card to Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng.

The MP had indicated that Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, presented himself at NIA premises but was issued a Ghana Card bearing the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, with a different date of birth.

But the NIA in a statement said there is nothing mysterious about Kwabena Adu Gyamfi being issued with a Ghana Card.

In response to the NIA statement, Mr. Ablakwa said the NIA must come clean on the issue.

“The NIA is making a lot of grandiose claims about how the Ghana card is credible, and it is integrated with GRA and many banks. If this is true, how is it that they could not detect this all these years?

“Rev. Kusi Boateng has successfully dribbled NIA.”

Ablakwa

Hon Ablakwa disclosed that during his investigative piece, he discovered that JNS Talent, which was paid GH₵‎2.6 million belongs to the appointed Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, Victor Kusi Boateng.

The North Tongu legislator further revealed that the Secretary’s expired driver’s license also bears the name Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng which was used to incorporate him into the Secretariat Board of Trustees.
