Far-right Israeli Politician, Simcha Rothman has expressed that after the war, Gaza must not be under the control of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

In a post on X, Rothman said, “The authority that is raising the next generation of abominable murderers in its inciting ‘education’ system – the authority that pays salaries to murderers of Jews.”

“Do not repeat the folly of the past! Only Israeli control and complete demilitarization of the Strip will restore security,” he added.

Rothman’s remarks come after President of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Mahmoud Abbas suggested the PA could return to Gaza as part of a political settlement.

Abbas called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, November 5, 2023, and indicated that the PA would be willing to return to the besieged enclave as part of a future political settlement.

“We will fully assume our responsibilities within the framework of a comprehensive political solution that includes all of the [occupied] West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip,” Abbas was quoted by the official Palestinian news agency as telling U.S Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said lately that Israel could manage Gaza’s security for an “indefinite period.”

Meanwhile, Yossi Beilin, an ex-Israeli Justice Minister and former negotiator during the Oslo Accords, opined that it is “much premature” to say what the Israeli military presence will be in Gaza after the war.

Speaking to a news agency, Beilin said that his “hope” was that Hamas would “no more rule the Gaza Strip.”

“Hamas was the main factor on the Palestinian side which was against a two-state solution,” he added, calling Hamas’s October 7 attack “totally crazy.”

“We cannot allow, neither the right nor the left, Hamas to remain there in power. And once Hamas is not in power, I think many things will happen.

“I hope that eventually we will have a solution with the PLO which is the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people on the issue of the two-state solution based on the 1867 borders with the land swaps and that Gaza will be part of course of this state.”

Gaza’s Situation Nears “Breaking Point”

UN disclosed that Gaza’s health, sanitation, water and food services are nearing a “breaking point” without desperately needed fuel imports.

Jens Laerke, Spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said that none of the 569 aid trucks that reached the besieged enclave so far was carrying fuel.

“More and more facilities are closing down, and more and more life-saving means are closing down,” World Health Organization Spokesperson, Christian Lindmeier, said referring to fuel supplies.

Also, the UNRWA warned that conditions in the shelters are inhumane and continue to deteriorate as days go by.

Gaza’s Interior Ministry announced that all bakeries in the Gaza City and North Gaza governorates have stopped operating due to systematic targeting and the lack of fuel and flour.

Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, posted on Telegram that it is “ready to release” 12 captives taken into Gaza but “the situation on the ground”; Israeli air and land attacks, “is what hinders this from being completed.”

According to Israel, 241 people were taken captive by Hamas when it launched its attack on October 7. Four have been released so far – two Israelis and two Americans.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza disclosed that 10,328 people in the besieged enclave have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.

The figure includes 4,237 children.
