The Campaign Team of the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed its commitment to maintaining a strong foothold in the Ashanti Region in the 2024 polls.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a member of the Vice President’s Campaign Team addressing concerns over the potential impact of Mr Alan Kyerematen on the party’s fortunes in the upcoming 2024 general elections in the Ashanti Region, strongly asserted that the party would work hard to maintain its fortunes in the region despite the presence of the Movement for Change leader in the polls.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye further expressed doubt about the influence of Mr Alan Kyerematen in the Ashanti region and strongly argued that the Movement for Change leader lacks what it takes to significantly influence the party’s votes.

According to Mr Aboagye the New Patriotic Party as a political party would put in place the best strategies and measures to increase its fortunes in the 2024 December 7 general elections to help its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to win the election.

“It’s an election, everybody on the ballot paper has the view that they could win. And for us in the NPP, we take every election seriously, in spite of what the person’s slot may be.

“And so once he finds his name on the ballot paper, why not? We will factor him into everything we do as a political party. We are not taking chances, we are not complacent at all, and we are not watering down anybody’s effect”

The Executive Secretary for the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralization also expressed confidence in the candidacy of Vice President and the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahmudu Bawumia to garner significant votes in the 2024 general election to secure victory for the governing New Patriotic Party.

According to Mr Aboagye, the Vice President, Dr Mahmudu Bawumia based on his policies and vision he announced on February 7 2024 at the University of Professional Studies is the best choice for Ghanaians to elect in the 2024 general elections.

The Dominance Of NPP And NDC Duopoly

Furthermore, Dennis Miracle Aboagye highlighted the established position of the New Patriotic Party and its main rival, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the country’s political landscape.

Mr Aboagye posited that the two main political parties in the country are very well established in the country and hence it would be difficult for any political party to break their dominance.

The Member of the Vice President’s Campaign Team further indicated that it would take another political party decades of hard work to reach the level of influence that both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress have reached in the country’s political system.

According to him, the two political parties’ formidable presence serves as a reminder of the challenges that any emerging political force would face in attempting to compete with them.

“The NPP and NDC, I have always insisted that these two political parties are very established forces. If you have any idea about how a political party functions, then you must understand that there’s a tall order, it’s an extremely tall order”

Dennis Miracle Aboagye

Mr Aboagye concluded his statement by underscoring the New Patriotic Party’s commitment to winning the 2024 general elections based on the party’s track record in government over the past seven years.
