Ghanaian actor, Mr Beautiful, has revealed that his former colleague, Agya Koo, once harboured a deep-seated dislike for him.
According to Mr Beautiful, Agya Koo saw him as a threat to his dominance in the Kumawood film industry at the time.
“Truth is that, Agya Koo made local movies popular because of his soaring popularity at the time. When Santo died, Agya Koo filled the void. I love Agya Koo but the truth is that when Agya Koo became popular, he wanted to be the only one in the limelight.
“To the extent that, Agya Koo could put a production on hold when he is traveling outside the country. When you ignore the directive, he will blacklist that producer. They were gravely concerned about the attitude he was putting up so fortunately, Miracle Films came for me and paired me with him for my first movie.”

The comic actor stated that he had known Agya Koo during concert party days.
Despite this, Mr Beautiful was cast alongside Agya Koo in the film ‘Sika Nibre’, featuring Nana Ama McBrown. Although the movie was successful, Agya Koo reportedly refused to shoot additional films with Mr Beautiful unless he was dropped from the cast.
Mr Beautiful disclosed that producers had to alter storylines in some instances to accommodate Agya Koo’s requests, as he did not want to share the spotlight with another lead actor.
According to Mr Beautiful, Agya Koo deliberately avoided being cast alongside him as a lead character due to fears of being overshadowed.
“That was a smart move because he didn’t want me to become big like himself to reduce his influence and monopoly at the time,” Mr Beautiful remarked.
He added that producers confirmed Agya Koo’s refusal to work with him due to feeling threatened.
Mr Beautiful further recounted how producers had to adopt strategies to manage Agya Koo’s behavior, especially when Akrobeto joined the industry after returning from Belgium.
In an attempt to avoid the same treatment from Agya Koo, Miracle Films made Akrobeto wash Agya Koo’s cars, helping the two actors develop a bond.
Mr Beautiful acknowledged Agya Koo’s immense talent but noted that this particular character trait eventually led producers to limit his roles, resulting in fewer collaborations with him over time.
Actor Makes Claims Against Nicholas Omane Acheampong
Mr Beautiful alleged that Nicholas Omane Acheampong, a singer affiliated to the NPP and into visa connections was once arrested for scamming some people.
The Kumawood star challenged Nicholas Omane Acheampong to be called to confirm his claims.
“Do you not remember Omane Acheampong took money from people promising to take them overseas but did not? He was arrested and was doing a 24-hour prison-to-prison tour. As he was coming out of Nungua cells on bail, Teshie police were waiting to take him away. As he was leaving the Teshie cells, La police were ready to take him away but Prophet Kobi intervened and paid some of the debts.”

“Omane Acheampong is buddies with the NPP’s Pius [Hadzide],” Mr Beautiful said. “They are mini thinkers. They are mentally shallow.”
Pius Enam Hadzide of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been seen in a viral video campaigning for the Asuogyaman parliamentary seat, promising to take constituents to the United States of America through the 2026 World Cup to go work and make money for their families.
He cited helping people go to Australia through the 2018 Commonwealth Games, while he was a deputy minister of youth and sports for which he was suspended by President Nana Akufo-Addo due to an ensuing scandal, only to be reinstated because, according to the President, he was “exonerated” after an investigation.
“A deep thinker will never make such a statement. You commit a crime and your President intervenes to clear you, people have forgotten about it, but because it’s a spirit living in you, you couldn’t keep your mouth shut. Now you want us to vote and get you into parliament.”

The comic star rebuked Pius Hadzide for seeking to use his parliamentary office for visa connection, doesn’t deserve such an office.
Mr Beautiful wondered why rather than creating jobs for the constituency, he wants to package people like rice, potatoes, tomatoes, and snails and send them abroad.
“If you had done a good job during your tenure, would you be seeking to take people out of Ghana? Pius has proven to me they have destroyed the country. Do you take people out of a flourishing place?”
