Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the leader and Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change (MFC), has called on the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to address the rights of the arrested protestors.

According to Kyerematen, his call is grounded in a plea for fairness, justice, and the application of the rule of law in the political landscape of Ghana.

“My appeal to the Attorney General is to apply nolle prosequi to terminate the criminal case or, at the very least, not oppose an application for bail or the abridgment of the remand period for the accused persons”.

Kyerematen further urged the Attorney General to prioritize the protection of the legal rights of young people while maintaining his professional integrity.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the next generation is treated fairly within the legal framework, and called on the AG to resist any external pressures that might compromise his duty to uphold justice.

Kyerematen highlighted that as a young leader himself, the Attorney General is in a unique position to champion the rights of youth, ensuring they have equal access to justice and opportunities without sacrificing ethical principles.

The MFC leader also expressed his desire for the youth, especially those who have been arrested, to recognize that they are the true heroes of their time.

He emphasized that their courage and willingness to stand up for their beliefs represent the spirit of change and progress.

Kyerematen encouraged them to take pride in their actions, assuring them that their sacrifices and struggles are not in vain but are shaping the future of the nation.

He underscored the importance of their role in the movement for change, calling them pivotal figures in the quest for a better Ghana.

Furthermore, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen highlighted the immense hardships the youth have endured, describing how they have borne the brunt of the nation’s most difficult times.

He pointed out the lack of job opportunities and the overwhelming sense of hopelessness many young people feel as they struggle to secure a stable future.

Kyerematen acknowledged the frustration and despair that come with navigating an economy that offers little to no prospects, emphasizing that this generation has been forced to survive under extremely challenging conditions.

He called for urgent action to address these pressing issues, pledging to prioritize youth empowerment and restore hope for a brighter tomorrow.

“Do not be dismayed, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Furthermore, do not be intimidated or be haunted by fear, but be inspired by the challenge of success.

“Together with Kwame Owusu Danso Esq., we reaffirmed our commitment to protecting the voice of the people and standing against illegal mining activities that harm our environment and undermine our future”.

The MFC leader emphasized that the party is taking a bold stand by addressing a critical issue that threatens the very foundation of Ghana’s democracy: the suppression of protests against galamsey.

He pointed out that the right to protest is a fundamental democratic freedom, and efforts to silence dissent, particularly against galamsey, undermine the voices of those fighting to protect the environment and safeguard the nation’s future.

Kyerematen condemned the stifling of these protests, stressing that such actions not only erode democratic principles but also signal a dangerous disregard for citizens’ rights to demand accountability and environmental justice.

Alan Kyerematen passionately declared that the time has come for the nation to rise and embrace change.

He expressed his unwavering belief that “Ghana will rise again,” calling on citizens to unite in their efforts to rebuild the country and restore hope for a better future.
