Former Assin Central Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has called on his supporters to remain steadfast and disciplined following what he described as a disappointing outcome in the party’s presidential primary.
Addressing party faithful at his campaign office on Saturday, January 31, Mr Agyapong acknowledged the setback but stressed that the results do not signal the end of his political ambitions or the contributions of his supporters to the NPP.
His address came at a time when emotions were high among supporters, as provisional results from across the country pointed to a decisive outcome in the keenly contested race.“The worst has happened, but that’s not the end of the road,” he told the gathering, striking a tone of resilience and reflection.
“Politics is a long journey, and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. What matters is how you conduct yourself after the results.”

“I want everybody to stay peaceful and disciplined. The NPP is bigger than all of us, and we must protect it,” Mr Agyapong added, underscoring the importance of preserving party unity after a bruising internal contest.
