According to a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer but will continue working during her treatment.
Trump said that Wiles’ prognosis is “excellent” and described her as “one of the strongest people I know.” He disclosed that Wiles plans to begin treatment immediately but made no suggestion that she was pulling back on her work as one of his closest advisers.
“During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy! Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.”

Trump reiterated that Wiles is “tough and deeply committed to serving the American People,” adding, “She will soon be better than ever!”

“Melania and I are with her in every way, and we look forward to working with Susie on the many big and wonderful things that are happening for the benefit of our Country.”

Wiles, 68, is a longtime Trump ally who rose from his campaign Co-chair to his closest adviser and counsel. The first woman to become White House Chief of staff, Wiles spent decades as a lobbyist and political operative in Florida and led Trump’s 2016 effort in the state.
Wiles has been a close advisor to Trump over the past several years, serving as his campaign manager during the 2024 election.
After Trump won the presidency for a second time in November 2024, he announced that Wiles would be his White House Chief of staff, making her the first woman to hold that role.

She mostly shuns the spotlight but drew attention in December with an unusually candid Vanity Fair interview in which she made critical remarks about Trump administration leaders including Vice President JD Vance and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Trump emphasized his trust in Wiles in the aftermath, calling the interview a “hit piece” and describing Wiles as “fantastic.”
Vance Expresses Support For Wiles

In a post on X, US Vice President, JD Vance expressed support for Wiles, saying, “The Vance family is praying for our dear friend as she takes on her next fight!”
Meanwhile, Wiles, 68, told a news agency in a statement that she is planning to start a weeks-long treatment soon, though she didn’t specify the type of treatment she would be undergoing.
“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.”

She told the news agency that she is “grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early,” and that she is “encouraged by a strong prognosis.”
She also expressed gratitude to the US President. “I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my current role,” she said.
