Rising Afro-fusion sensation and Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana (UG) Department of Psychology, Kobby Muhsin, has taken center stage in a recent interview to captivate listeners with the inspiring story behind his hit singles “Senorita” and “Dey Play”.
While reaffirming his determination to break barriers in the music industry despite being visually impaired, Kobby Muhsin revealed that he began his musical journey around 2020 but officially started a professional career in 2022 which coincided with his entry into UG where he began doing music properly.
“Senorita,” released in May 2025 by Jenwart, stands as one of Muhsin’s most defining records. According to the artiste, the song took over a year to fully come to life. He explained that the initial idea emerged from a spontaneous freestyle session that was recorded on the spot but left incomplete due to the absence of lyrics at the time.
Returning to the song a year later, Muhsin said a renewed wave of inspiration shaped its final direction, shedding light on the deeper message behind the track.
“I came back to the song after a year of starting and continued, and it struck me that hardworking girls and everything inspired the song”

His more recent single, “Dey Play,” released on December 14 2025, was co-produced by Jenwart and Gigz. The song draws from real-life experiences, particularly a friend’s breakup, which Muhsin transformed into a relatable Afro-fusion record. The track is currently streaming across major digital platforms and continues to gain attention among music lovers.
On “Dey Play,” Muhsin credited co-producers Jenwart and Gigz for shaping the song’s sound, noting that the collaboration brought out new dimensions in his music. He added that balancing melody, rhythm, and emotion took multiple sessions and revisions.
AI and Future Collaborations
Beyond the music, Muhsin is embracing innovation as part of his artistic journey. Despite being visually impaired, he disclosed plans to leverage Artificial Intelligence in creating visuals for his songs, signaling a shift from traditional production methods and positioning himself at the intersection of music and technology.
Currently working on his upcoming EP, the young musician expressed interest in collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. He believes their lyrical prowess and distinctive styles would significantly elevate his sound.
“I am also looking for dancers to create a dance challenge with my songs and tag me with it,” he urged, calling on fans to actively engage with his music.
Speaking on his journey as a visually impaired artiste, Muhsin maintained that he has not encountered discrimination within the industry. Instead, he emphasized a mindset rooted in faith and self-belief, noting that his performances are guided by a higher purpose.
“I do not see discrimination. If you do or are doing it, you are doing it to yourself,” he stated.
On a personal note, the artiste also touched on love, describing it as a feeling without measure. In a revelation that surprised many listeners, he disclosed that he is currently in a relationship.
Muhsin concluded by encouraging fans to continue streaming his songs, including “Mashup,” “Senorita,” and “Dey Play,” while assuring them of more music in the near future.

Looking Ahead
He encouraged fans to participate in dance challenges using snippets from his singles, promising to feature the best entries on his social media pages. Muhsin said connecting with fans directly keeps him motivated and grounded.
