Ghanaian actor and comedian Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, popularly known as Dr. Likee, has intensified preparations ahead of his highly anticipated international comedy show with a series of strategic courtesy visits to key stakeholders within Ghana’s tourism and media landscape.
The visits come in the lead-up to his upcoming performance at the O2 Indigo scheduled for May 22, 2026, a show expected to draw a significant Ghanaian and international audience.
As part of efforts to formally introduce and promote the event, Dr. Likee and his team visited the Ghana Tourism Authority, where they were received by the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto.
The Ghana Tourism Authority, operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is the state agency responsible for regulating and promoting Ghana’s tourism industry. Established under the Tourism Act, 2011 (Act 817), the Authority plays a central role in positioning Ghana as a leading tourism destination in West Africa.
During the meeting, Dr. Likee and his team briefed the CEO on the concept and scope of the O2 Indigo show, presenting it not only as a comedy event but as a cultural export aimed at showcasing Ghanaian creativity on an international stage. The team also presented souvenirs associated with the show.
In her response, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto expressed appreciation for the initiative and emphasised the broader national significance of such international engagements. She highlighted the role of Ghana’s leadership in promoting cultural and economic narratives on global platforms.
“Our President is promoting reparation so I want you to run stories around reparation so that the ordinary Ghanaian abroad can understand the effort President Mahama is putting into the reparation”
Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Tourism Authority

She further encouraged the team to incorporate meaningful storytelling into the performance, suggesting that the stage could serve as a powerful medium for education and engagement.
“The perspective you will come with will get the people to even understand the project better and more interesting,” she stated.
Dr. Likee and his team also paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, widely known as Abeiku Santana.
During the engagement, the comedian formally invited the tourism ambassador to the London show and presented him with souvenirs. Abeiku Santana, in turn, expressed enthusiasm about the visit and commended Dr. Likee for his consistency and impact within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
“I will also like to stand in on behalf of Ghana Tourism Authority, the President; His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the Minister of Tourism and give you two flight tickets to the UK to the members of the team who will be going”
Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority
He further disclosed that the Ghana Tourism Authority had committed to supporting the team’s travel logistics by covering return flight tickets for members attending the show, a move seen as a significant endorsement of the initiative.

Media Backing from Bola Ray
Extending their outreach to the media space, Dr. Likee and his team also visited Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi professionally known as Bola Ray at the EIB Network.
At the meeting, Dr. Likee provided an overview of the show’s concept, describing it as a structured theatrical production.
“The show is a standard comedy show, a stage play,” he explained.
Bola Ray congratulated the comedian on the milestone and acknowledged the work he has put into building his brand over the years. He also pledged media support for the event, offering the platform of EIB Network to amplify visibility through advertisements, interviews and promotional content.

Building Momentum for a Global Stage
The series of visits underscores a coordinated effort to position the O2 Indigo show as more than just an entertainment event. It reflects a broader ambition to project Ghanaian comedy and culture onto the global stage, aligning with national tourism and cultural promotion strategies.
With institutional backing from the Ghana Tourism Authority and media support from EIB Network, Dr. Likee’s upcoming performance is shaping up to be a landmark moment in his career.
As anticipation builds towards May 22, the comedian continues to mobilise support while reinforcing his presence as one of Ghana’s most influential comic figures. The London show is expected to not only entertain but also serve as a cultural bridge, connecting Ghanaian audiences at home and abroad through humour, storytelling and shared identity.
